Been smoking a pipe for about 2 years at the time of writing this, though I smoked cigars and tinkered with the occasional cob and OTC combo for a few years prior. In the time For the amount of time I've been smoking, I've smoked and collected a lot of tobaccos―nearly a hundred blends now. My only preferences are quality and variety. I mainly enjoy Virginia and Virginia-Perique flakes, but I also love Burleys, Lakelands, Englishes, Balkans, and from time to time, mild aromatics.

DID NOT LIKE:
☞C&D Virginia Flake - Very poor VA flake; could've been a bad batch based on good reviews from others. Parts of the flakes looked green, which a microscope confirmed was not mold, but what I believe to be a sign of hasty curing. Additionally, it was dry as desert sand and devoid of any redeeming qualities.
☞Sir Walter Raleigh - Has too much of a "chemical" taste to it for me to enjoy often (unlike say, Carter Hall), and although it seems there's a nice nuttiness hiding in there, I just can't get past that chemical overtone. It's not terrible but I'm not going to smoke it just to be cool (chuckles).

Blends that were markedly different from batch-to-batch:
๛ G.L. Pease Temple Bar - The first tin I had of this was from spring 2016. It was absolutely awesome. A tightly-pressed Oriental-Virginia masterpiece, honestly rivaling even the savory McClelland #24. It was dark in color, smelled great, and was oh so delicious. However, sadly, the last two tins I've had of this were completely different from the first. So, I decided to steam it and press it some more, and I got a superior product altogether.
๛ G.L. Pease Piccadilly - This was the first English I'd ever tried, and became my favorite English for quite a while. The last tin I had wasn't nearly as good as the first couple. I'm thinking that this could be chocked-up to a batch of red Virginia that wasn't necessarily bad, just different than from some of the previous harvests.
