I started smoking a pipe a long time a go now and was brought up on UK OTC tobaccos like Condor, St Bruno, Erinmore and a few others.
Over the years, cigarettes took over, mainly due to employment and time, with my pipe taking a back seat only to be smoked and enjoyed when it was convenient.
Now I have time on my hands to enjoy my pipe again.
I joined this site a while ago now to look at your excellent reviews as to the tobacco currently available on the market and learn from you and hopefully pay back one day with my own comments.
You will find a lot of my tobacco reviews highly rated, that is because I chose them reading the reviews on this site, I chose to learn from your experience.
Of course I had a few hicoughs (hiccups) along the way and chose some tobaccos that were not to my liking but I'll try to be fair and honest in what I write in my reviews.
Firstly though, thanks to Chuck for this wonderful site and to everyone who participates in it to help people choose a tobacco that may suit them.
If you know the kind and strength of tobacco you like, then this site is an open door to your possibilities of pipe smoking enjoyment.
Personally, I like the English Latakia Blends, the English Lakeland Blends, the English twists and flakes, American mixtures and blends, cakes etc
I dislike in the main most aromatic tobaccos, in my humble opinion, they may smell nice but a lot of them are for the pipe smokers audience rather than the smoker of the pipe.
I'd just like to mention that in my reviews apart from the room note,the reviews are totally subjective as to how I found the tobacco.
However on the room note, I have tried to be objective. e.g. I may find the smell of my Latakia based tobacco quite pleasant when it's only a few inches from my nose, and coming out of it, whereas those around me might not really have the same opinion. :-)
