nothing fancy, a lot of Kay Woodies, Falcons, Vello Boles, Red dots, a few old estate pipes. I favor bull dogs. I keep a few new cobs for sampling new blends as they require no break-in and are essentially disposable if I find myself with a noxious blend. I probably put the most mileage on my Vello Boles and Falcons. I have a pipe (my #1) which belonged to my grandfather who smoked (whatever he could find) in in the trenches around Verduyn during WW I. It is a nameless doublebent briar. He smoked Granger and Half and Half and I reserve it for those two alone. I'd like to carry it in my jacket pocket into the next world if none of my children takes up the pleasure of the briar.
