Hampton was a short lived Germain offering a couple of decades ago. I've only been able to get 2 tins in my lifetime and one remains in my cellar while the other was consumed over a period of time. One of the fullest flavored blends that I've ever smoked, Hampton was loaded to the gills with that famous special Germain processing that tames the beast but leaves the strength. The Burley added the strength, the Virgina body and sweetness and the Perique bolstered both. I think one of the reasons this one did not last long was the Tonquin flavoring. It didn't overwhelm like Gawith's 1792 can do, but it sure made for a long-standing aftertaste and left the smoker feeling like he/she has just taken a palate pasting.
