Carey's - Broad Cut English Mixture.

The smell from this is a bit of a complex one, I get a full smell of the tobaccos but there is also a sweetness there with a very delicate floral attribute. The blend includes a good few pieces that appear to be small broken flakes, they are not big enough to need a rubbing but they are definitely broken from a flake.

It's of a splendid moistness to get lit and once it is it gives off a lovely tasting smoke that is of a medium temperature. The flavour field from this is not at all hogged by the Virginia, actually it's the Burley that is the more domineering of the two tobaccos with a sumptuous nut and caramel quality. Also, like I found in the aroma, I note a very subtle floral addition, please be aware that I do mean VERY SUBTLE! This blend issues no bite to me at all but the smoke can become too warm if strained hard, don't take that as a negative as I find it's just simply an idiosyncratic feature of this blend... enjoy the taste, don't rush! The nicotine is of a civilized amount, it's neither weak nor strong so it will suit all kinds of smoker, be you a nicotine lover or a flavour only piper. The room note isn't particularly special, just a basic Burley one that is of a pleasing weight. I have often felt a touch nonplussed towards recognizing Burley in blends but this is the first blend that allows its creamy/buttery/calming qualities take the pre-eminent position.
