Highly aromatic. Number 1 grade American AAA burley, golden cavendish and Virginia tobaccos, flavored with an exclusive vanilla extract. Fluff string cut.
Dry it first and smoke slowly, or risk the dreaded tongue bite. I find it a rather harsh smoke at times. The vanilla flavor is decent enough, and almost completely drowns out the tobacco taste. No nicotine to speak of. Burns at a moderate pace with a cool, but thin flavor. Requires few relights, but will leave moisture in the bowl. Has a decent after taste.
Vanilla Black Cavendish - Released Summer 2017 - Ultra smooth, rich tasting blend verging on a dessert smoke. Not a rehash of BCA or like the blend reviewed below. Out and out winner in a very tasty and pleasing blend. Lane smokers should love this NEW offering and well worth your time to order at least a 1oz sample. That's how I approached it and now on 3rd order.
This is not an everyday puff for me, but I do enjoy it for a change of pace, particularly if I am smoking around others.
One of the other reviewers here admits to being a bit harsh on aromatics, so his comments are consistent with his position. The other reviews were not long enough and they provided little information in their profile that might reveal a particular preference. That said, I felt the need to offer a more thorough assessment. Check my profile to see my puffing preferences, so that you can better gauge your appreciation of this blend.
I agree with a couple of reviewers that puffed straight, the vanilla is a bit overwhelming. I usually cut this blend with Lanes Black Cavendish - about 30/70%, the later being the Vanilla.
What this blend does well is that it retains the Vanilla for most of the bowl, both for the smoker and for others. Therefore, this is a good choice for those smokers who want to retain the aroma of the tobacco as well as not turn others away. It does have a tendency to smoke a bit hot and wet, so careful on the puff or it will become overly wet in the bottom of the bowl. Again, the increased Cavendish helps here, both in burning quality and consistency.
I would not recommend this for someone who smokes exclusively natural Virginia/Perique or Latakia blends. It will probably offend your sensibilities.
That said, this is a great choice for those who like the Danish style blends but want to retain the tin aroma. You will not get much of the tobacco taste however, and if that is what you want, then you might try more boutique blends, like Nordings (or many others), where the flavor burns off and you can get more of the taste of the underlying tobaccos.
If you are desperate for something to smoke and you can afford only the absolute cheapest stuff available, this is the blend for you. Its only attributes are that it's better than PA and your wife or girl friend won't kick you out of the house if you light up a pipe full.
I use this blend as a mixer most times and it compliments the other tobaccos, on the other hand it is tolerable by it self but not favorite. The wife test passes but not the tongue test ,yes it burns of fast puffing . I will still use a mixer on my other weeds.
Good mixer not a straight up smoke. If you just want vanilla smoke BCA! My local shop calls this " Brown Beauty Vanilla". Mixed with BCA you would have "Double Vanilla" !
Its vanilla, pure & simple. Nothing much to it, seems to smoke OK, has a light vanilla flavoring, nothing too bad. would probaly best be used as something to blend with, rather than to smoke straight.
