The gold Virginia cavendish offers a little citrus and grass. The sugary black cavendish is more prominent, though the tobaccos are greatly sublimated by the toppings. The very rich buttery cream dominates the sweet raisins, reminding me of baked custard. The cinnamon underscores every puff. I think there is a drop or two of a light fruity topping. The strength falls just short of being mild to medium. The taste level is a little closer to medium than it is to mild. The nic-hit is mild. Won’t bite or get harsh. The tobacco may need a short dry time. Burns cool, clean, and slightly slow with a mostly consistent, creamy sweet, cinnamon flavor, though the toppings weaken just a tad in the last quarter of the experience. Leaves a little dampness in the bowl, and needs a few relights. Has a pleasantly lingering after taste, and can be an all day smoke. Three and a half stars.
This must of been the best holiday blend Uhle's created, since you can still purchase it year round and into the future (currently 2016 at the time of review).
It is a great aromatic. I can kind of see the Christmas slant to this one, as it has some of the potpourri spices I think of around the holidays; cinnamon, orange, and a light red wine perhaps?
Unlike their 2015 iteration of this blend, the flavor is not overpowering. It is tasty and maintains all the way through the bowl and never wears too much on the smoker.
This and Bishop's Move are my two favorite Uhle's blends.
