This mixture contains 80% double-fermented African and South American black cavendish and 20% bright Virginia from Brazil. The natural sweetness is enhanced by the addition of sambuca and real licorice.
Notes: Formerly known as "Blue Sambuca", it was re-named to "Ocean Blue" due to EU regulations.
I was curious to try this tobacco, as I enjoy aromatics which are not fruity. Upon opening the pouch, a pleasantly sweet aroma can be detected, though it is not overpowering. The moisture content is just right, and this can be smoked right out of the pouch. The cut makes for easy packing, and the mixture lights up on 2 matches.
The flavor was pleasant and somewhat exotic. While I have smoked a number of tobaccos that had hints of licorice, I had never had one with actual licorice in it. This tobacco has an interesting taste, pleasantly intriguing, more spicy than sweet. The room note is pleasing, typically Danish.
This mixture smokes cool with no tongue bite nor "tobacco juice" and doesn't leave a sodden dottle as some other aromatics tend to. Blue Sambuca is a nice change of pace, something different, but I will not be adding it to my regular rotation. I would recommend this tobacco for intermediate smokers of aromatics who are looking for something unique.
I think this tobacco is meant only for those who both like AROs and anise. For such smokers this is a pretty good tobacco, light, easy to smoke, with no bite, and with a full sambuca flavour. Being myself such a smoker, I give three stars. It is also relatively easy to find here in Europe. Those who don't like AROs and anise, better stay at large...
This defamation of the word tobacco reached me by accident and I was crazy enough to try it... Wow...what can I say...
I never understood why you should smoke tobacco with an amount of chemial taste that doesn't give you even the smallest chance to detect just a hint of tobacco taste... Maybe I could somehow understand it if the taste was natural, but this cheap chemical taste...just sad!
If you feel the need to recreate some happy moments of your childhood then better buy some goodies, gummy bears or whatever...
