Black as night. Soft as velvet. Green Velvet, a new tobacco blend consists solely of fermented Virginia tobaccos. A unique pro-tobacco production technology gives a slightly glossy surface.
Despite the dark colour of the velvet tobacco - a result of the fermentation process - it is soft, gentle and very 'tongue-friendly'. The tobacco burns slowly and develops more and more flavour and aroma.
Interesting blend. It is indeed extremely gentle and mild, really lite, while there is a lot of taste. I feel two distinctive flavors: very dark chocolate (a bit too much for me) and... well... Here's how I would put it: if you want to seduce the kind of lady who puts potpourri pots everywhere in her house, smoking this in her presence will give your relationship a boost. Well, those ladies are not my taste.
But. If you like to mess around with your tobaccos, and mix them, Green Velvet can be a very nicely used spice. And I mean spice, I used around 10% or less of it each time. It gives a nice touch to some other tobaccos. But I can live without it. Careful with storage, it dries very fast.
Nice surprise from the mac Baren House. The flavour is great (some sort of chocolate/orange cake), has no bite and no goo at the bottom of your bowl. Non smokers love the aroma so this is a great social tobacco. A little bit superior than his red brother.
Hello everyone, I do recommend this tobacco to every pipe smoker specially flavored tobacco enthusiasts like myself. If you have not tried it yet and are looking for a description, in my opinion, the name and the packaging says it all... It really feels as soft as velvet and as black and thick as the night... Try it, you won't regret it if you're into flavored stuff. And one last thing, when you're openning the box for the first time, it will be too moist. Let it breathe 10 to 20 minutes before packing ... Happy velvet dreaming! F. Houshmand
This is an excellent aromatic blend, the tin aroma is of strong dark chocolate with hint of orange, the flavor is delicious, it has a cool smoke and it is very gentle on the tongue, this is a semi-sweet dark chocolate aromatic, extremely mild, there is almost no nicotine in there.I bought a 100g tin of this from my local tobacconist(for approx.16$) and I love it, i have to try the red velvet the next time.
If you like a very mild tobacco with dark chocolate flavor and without any tongue bite, try this blend.
I really enjoyed my experience with this very sweet tobacco. As soon as you open the pouch you will smell the sweetness of chocolate and orange. The flavor is also noticeable when you smoke it and the room notice is pleasant. I just notice that the tobacco is a bit wet and requires several attempts to lit well. Another thing is that the amount of tobacco in pouch is a bit small (not enough for 10 bowels). I think this tobacco is worth trying...
1/12/2012 I decided to try this tobacco again, I bought a new pouch and as soon as I opened it the smell was as good as the first time I tried it. The tobacco color is lighter (not as black as it used to be) and it is not as wet as it used to be also (I think they modified a bit the formula but defiantly not the quality of tobacco). One lit is enough for the whole bowl it is really excellent tobacco that is well balanced
One of the first few tobaccos i've tried. The smell out of the tin is amazing, it smells like chocolate cake. However the taste is just plain awful. It weels nothing like tobacco, and has a great artifical aftertaste. Tried it 5 times before throwing the rest out. If you want to have some serious headaches then go for this stuff, otherwise stay away from it...
To put it simple, I managed to get trough a half Pipe, before i had to roam it.
There is no Tobacco in this Tobacco. Tastes like you just fell into a bottle of floor-cleaner. And smells horrible.
If you like the taste of burnt Toothpaste (also known as purely Chemical Aromatics), this is the way to go!
I like Aromatics, don't get me wrong, but this just tastes awfull, chemical and not the slightest bit like Orange or Chocolate. What the flying duck did MB do?
