Cup O' Joes
Inspired by CAO's flavorful Eileen's Dream Cigarillos, this blend begins with a base of quality Virginia and black cavendish leaf and then infuses the same with a frothed cream that's been laced with superior Irish whiskey and coconut milk, followed by a subtle mixture of hazelnut paste, ground almonds, cocoa and vanilla extracts.

Beginner's review:
I'm new to pipe smoking, but i've tried many pipe tobacco blends (aromatic, english, balkan, vaper, VA, etc). I love eileen's dream. For me, it's one of the best aromatics i've ever tried. The tin aroma was very pleasant (irish cream+chocolate, and hazelnut as the background note). Burns well and tastes good, quite the same as the tin aroma though the flavoring quite strong and IMHO, it dominates the tobacco taste. But i don't really care, it's aromatic.. I enjoy smoking it and no bite. I didn't find any chemical taste. Relaxing, pairs with bailey's liquor-based drinks well. Maybe I'm a new pipe smoker, but i know it's different from captain black regular. Recommended for beginners and aromatic lovers.

I met Eileen online at P&C. I arranged for them to send her to my house. She was waiting for me when I got home from work a few days later. She was beautiful I have to say; even more so than the picture I saw on her profile. My wife had not yet gotten home so Eileen and I started fooling around. Before I knew it I had her top off and that's when I saw her for who she truly is. I knew that I had met my fantasy lady. Near perfect and She never complained or raised her voice at me. It didn't matter to her that the yard hadn't been mowed or that there were underwear on the bathroom floor from the day before. All she wanted to do was provide me with one of life's simple pleasures; not to nag and complain. She was so sweet and smooth, not difficult to get along with at all. I didn't even try to hurry and get "done" before the "General" came home. I was enjoying my time with Eileen and didn't even care if I got caught. She is definitely worth getting to know better. She smelled heavenly, tasted divine, and is so worthy of more of my time! Go slow, treat her like lady and she will make great company!

I don't know what it is about this tobacco. I almost feel embarrassed to say this but I love it. I find myself smoking other more expensive and fancier aromatics and wishing I'd packed this instead. If you sip it just right, you really get the cream taste, and unlike other reviewers I don't find it terribly chemically tasting. It's nice. Sweet without being too sweet, pairs with my coffee well, and relaxing to smoke. I'm going to keep a tin of this handy. Between this and Presbyterian blend I could die a happy man!

I got this in a trade, not knowing anything about it. When I cracked the tin, I groaned at the heavy chocolate and liqueur scent. When I finished the bowl, I thought "not bad... not bad at all".
Like most aromatics, the tin aroma is overstated in comparison to the flavor. Dried out sufficiently, this one had a true tobacco taste under the "box of chocolates" aroma. Certainly the truffles and Irish Creme flavors shone through, but this didn't taste like candy. The taste overall was medium in intensity but the tobacco taste was definitely there. The room aroma was nowhere near as powerful as I thought it would be, and I was most impressed that this left no wet dottle or caused my pipes to gurgle very much. Really a very nice example of an aromatic for pipesmokers, rather than an aromatic for those in the same airspace as the smoker.
Not a ringing endorsement but anyone that enjoys exotic smelling tobacco should try this one. It's probably drier and tastier than what you're used to. Now the question is if you like the taste. Try it and see. I'd call this a premium aromatic.

Very rare I have a second bowl in one night and last night was rare. I wanted something sweet, like a dessert maybe? Eileen’s Dream by CAO looked like it would work. At first light the white chocolate truffle taste is almost overpowering but quickly subsides and slips into a soft mix of truffle and a sweet Irish whiskey and……coconut milk? Yes, coconut! Who would have thought? About halfway through, it develops a creamy texture with a hint of hazelnut, almonds I think and sneaking in every so often is a taste of vanilla. Quite the kaleidoscope of flavors. It exceeded my expectations and bordered on being a little too much. Overall though, I see this as a good puff after a heavy textured/earthy (steak?, rich pasta?) meal but I don’t see my self buying any for my little shelf.

I was really disappointed with this blend. I was expecting a very pleasant aromatic, but that isn't what I got. I spent several days of agony trying to enjoy it. I never got that sweet room note that I expect from my aromatics, the only taste I ever got was similar to that of cold pipe juice, and I could not keep it lit to save my life. I finally puled out all the stops today - I sweetened my favorite pipe overnight to make sure I wasn't getting any nasty oils in my smoke, and I dried out a bowl's worth for about two hours. I'm finally able to get a decent Irish Cream scent/taste. That being said, it's only decent. Not worth the trouble and not worth the money. I'll probably age the rest and see if it's any better in a year or two. Their cigar making skills does not translate well into pipe tobacco.

I can't believe I had forgot to review this blend. I was given a bowl of this from my friend a few summers back and really enjoyed it. So much so, I ordered a couple tins of it.
I finished one tin recently and have yet to open another. Anyway, on to the review. This is the second CAO Flavor blends I have tried. The first being Moontrance. I enjoyed both those blends as they suited my tastes for what I look for in an aromatic. Being that they give a nice topping onto some good tobacco. The topping does not overwhelm in this blend just as it didn't with the moontrance.
The big difference between the two was the topping. Moontrance had a weird topping of tropical fruits and Bourbon. I wouldn't say it was bad, but just odd. Eileen's Dream delivers a more familiar taste to the palate. That being of an irish cream. It is rich and it is good. As stated before the tobacco does shine and seems to compliment the topping well.
The nuttiness of the burley is there the sweetness of the Virginias is also perhaps, but it is hard to tell if the sweetness you are experiencing is the Virginias or the topping. Nonetheless when smoking this or the moontrance, you will not be puffing hot air, rather you will know that you are smoking tobacco.
I can't speak for the room note, but my mustache note was fantastic. To compare to another blend, I have only had one other blend with this type of topping. That would be Cornell & Diehl's Nutty Irishman. That one is pretty good too, but given the choice I would opt for Eileen's Dream over that one. Overall, four aromatic stars for this one and I can't wait to try some of the other CAO Flavors as I have had two solid hits in a row.

I'm normally a burley and latakia smoker. Occasionally I hunt around for a decent aromatic as a change of pace. Eileen's Dream is the first of the CAO Flavours line I've tried and I must say i was pleasantly surprised. The base of this blend is quality virginia's and cavandish tobacco. I'm not really a fan of cavendish. i find it to be pretty bland but the virginia's are nice and actually add a natural tobacco sweetness and flavor. The casing was also well done and not only makes for a fantastic roomnote of vanilla cream but it also adds some actual flavor to the smoke. The tobacco comes in a nice ribbon cut but needs to have some dry time before smoking. If dried out before smoking it woulnt bite you. Its actually a very pleasant aromatic blend.

A disappointment... I bought a tin of it on my birthday in September. Being in Vegas I was somewhat inebriated. The next day I was like, ehh I think I'll save if for March 17 and crack it open and share it with my friends. I actually opened it a few days before St. Patrick's Day with a good friend of mine, the aroma was so enticing! I have to say that the description of the aromas on the tin transferred accurately to the initial whiff. Unfortunately we could not say this about the actual smoke. It was nutty and creamy, but in a dull way. I was expecting either a candy tobacco or a complex Danish style aromatic with subtle notes and mild taste. This wasn't the case, the room note was even bland, reminiscent of a drugstore vanilla. It wasn't all bad: no bite, no bad aftertaste, no goopy pipe. It was just dull. I was kinda hoping it would be more memorable, but sadly it is one of those blends that has a great tin and forgettable tobacco. All in all, not really recommended, except for tin collectors.

Eileen's Dream has got to be one of the best aromatics ever. Highly recommended. Let me tell you why.
This is quality tobacco, and they did a stellar job on the casings. Main note of Irish cream with background notes of hazelnut & chocolate, so some complexity here. The flavoring holds all the way to the heel. Nor did I think there was anything chemically about the taste. Moisture & cut were perfect from the freshly cracked tin. So where's the bite ?? Absolutely not here, friend. Now into my second tin and not yet even a hint of bite, even when I start chugging away at it. At just beyond $8 USD a tin, I see some value here.
Just really good stuff all around. If you're at all into aromatics, this ain't one to miss.

Another one I must say that I really like. It lights very easy which is a plus. Not very strong which is also good in my opinion. I can detect a little bit of vanilla in this tobacco as well as a cocoa like chocolate taste. Smells as great as it tastes. This one is great for those like myself who enjoy good aromatics.

She Who Must Be Obeyed loves this! I really enjoy the taste, and the room note. My truck smells like this and Moontrance. I especially enjoy this in a churchwarden type after supper with a cup of coffee. Only drawback is intown availability. Ready to celler some and try in a month or so after cracking the tin. Highly recommend to everyone that enjoy aro's.
Update: I now alternate this with other aro's and enjoy the variety. SWMBO is a fan of this practice and I think I see a smile when she sees me reach for my pipe. So, win-win. But, be advised-if you have a pipe constantly burning, this blend sometimes bites if pushed or overly drawn. Will also steam if pushed, and become a gloopy mess. Go Slow and enjoy this. If you are like me and always have a pipe in your mouth, this may be alittle too steamy for you. Thats when the chemical taste emerges and my pipe becomes a torture device.

This is a quality aromatic made with excellent grade leaf. You can tatse and smell the cigar leaf. Unusual but very nice aroma. I wouldn't want to smoke this every day, but it is deffinately a resident on my rotation shelf. I would rate this in the top 20% of the aromatics I have smoked and in 40 years thats a lot of blends. They also make a blend called Moontrance which is similar and maybe better.

CAO - Eileen's Dream.
Firstly, it's not a crumble cake as currently stated on T.R., it's a ribbon or well broken flake; there are one or two flake pieces. It contains a greater proportion of black Cavendish in comparison to the others. The aroma from the tin's a strong aromatic one and the moisture's good.
I quite like the smoke. I get mostly a sweeter/dessert-like aromatic flavour: Irish Mist, chocolate, vanilla, and cream. The coconut and hazelnut leave it until the last quarter to join in. The cigar leaf stops this from becoming the usual creamy, sweet aromatic. It gives the smoke a dryness, preventing the normal aromatic gloopiness appearing. Unless this is sipped slowly it can burn a little warm.
Nicotine: mild to medium. Room-note: very pleasant.

I had been looking forward to this tobacco for quite some time before I bought it. When it first arrived in the mail and I opened the tin, the aroma was VERY different from what I was expecting. It smelled like a barn filled with cows. Not a bad aroma, but definitely not the one I was expecting. A few days later the barn smell faded and was replaced with the smell of Irish Cream. This flavor carries though well into the smoke and is accompanied by a very sweet tobacco. It is best when smoked slow because of its tendency to smoke wet, as is the case with many heavy aromatics. It was a little disappointing to be honest.

My wife actually enjoys this CAO creation in cigar form on occasion. As I've shed my prejudice against aromatics recently I ordered some up for a try. The aromatic flavors are distinct and top notch. The aroma of the tin is very pleasant and rich. It's flavored something like an Irish Cream treat. Unfortunately, the Virginia tobacco is not tempered with Burley so it has that thin bodied but strong tongue irritating Virginia quality that I dislike. Had this blend had the benefit of the rich, full, grain-like or nutty qualities of Burley added (needless to say I love Burley )it may have been enjoyable. As it is this CAO concoction is just a sweet tongue scorcher. If you are a fan of strongly flavored Virginia tobacco you'll probably like this. As for me, it only deserves one star. However for the Virginia lover this would likely be appreciated so I'll give it two stars. Note: I have added a small amount of this to a home-made blend and due to the quality of the flavorings it made a nice condiment to the mixture.

Too weak, nearly no nicotine, tastes generically sweet, but nothing like the tin note (which is outstanding). It is better used for pot pourri than smoking. Very gently sipping brings out some vanillaish flavour, but not enough to compensate. If you don't want nicotine and want to smoke around non smokers, get this stuff, it definitely has its place and clearly people like it, but not me. I won't be buying any more.

I’ve been searching for more solid aros to add to my stable recently. I enjoy a sweet tobacco of an evening sometimes, but I cannot seem to enjoy a tobacco if there is no tobacco flavor, as was the case here. I certainly want to taste the topping, but as a sweet addition to good tobacco flavor, not as a casing which hides a bland base. I loved the tin note and my wife certainly loved the smell in the room as I was smoking this blend, she was really hoping I’d like it, but I simply could seem to find a satisfactory reason to keep puffing away on creamy air.

This high quality aromatic is simply wonderful,, for starters, it won't bite, ever, even if smoked vigorously. The high quality black cavendish is the hallmark of this blend and CAO pipe tobaccos in general - a perfect base for the flavor palette of this blend. The chocolate flavor is there but mild and smoothed out by the creaminess of the other flavors. It's flavor is true to the bottom of the bowl and it doesn't get bitter,, as many, many blends can do. Folks, this will be a crowd-pleaser so smoke it at parties or where ever you can to win fans of the pipe and have even the most rabid anti-tobacco folks asking "What is that wonderful smell?" ,,, I love it when that happens ;)

Disclaimer: I'm new to pipe smoking, and to reviewing tobacco
As a new pipe smoker, when I opened the tin of Eileen's Dream, I was pleased by the obvious smell of chocolate, with a hint of vanilla. The tobacco appears to be mostly comprised of black Cavendish, and seems a bit moist right out of the tin. I air dried a small amount for a few minutes before loading my pipe.
One char light, and a light tamp before putting flame to it again briefly. Only had to relight once more, near the bottom of the bowl.
First puff gave a definite taste of vanilla, but it wasn't overbearing as I expected. The smoke was full, but relatively mild. As I progressed through the bowl, I started getting a bit more of a chocolate note. As with the vanilla, it wasn't overpowering in any way, just present.
I expected this stuff to smoke hot, since it seemed a little more moist than I'm used to, and because of the aroma. I was pleasantly surprised, and received no tongue bite at all.
Left a light chocolate after taste, and had a great room note while smoking. Not something I'd smoke on a daily basis, but if I wanted something with some flavor, and something with a pleasant scent for those around me, this one would definitely be an option.

This blend is an aromatic smoker's dream. It has a great tin note of chocolate, cream, and vanilla. It packs very well and is not wet and goopy at all. On a charring light, the vanilla comes through strong with a hint of chocolate in the background. The chocolate tends to become more prominent as the bowl is smoked, and the smoke is thick and creamy. You begin to notice the taste of tobacco as you near the bottom of the bowl, so it is much more than just a chocolate truffle flavor. I like that, and I love coming home to a big bowl after a hard day at work. Everyone loves the room note as well. It is certainly worth keeping on hand for every aromatic smoker, and a damn fine change of pace for the English smoker as well. Grab a tin and have a bowl after dinner. You might just be surprised.

Trying this after a few years ago, and being a mostly non-aromatic smoker, this turned out to be pretty good. It wasn't overly cased as others can be. It almost had a hazelnut taste that I really enjoyed.
It was a mild blend, not quite mellow. It wasn't too outside of the box, but it was a tin I could easily finish.

Notwithstanding drugstore blends, which I do not smoke at all, this is one of the worst aromatic blends that I have ever smoked. The quality of the tobacco itself is suspect, and the burn characteristics are awful. It is difficult to light, difficult to keep lit, and offers no appreciable tobacco flavor. Despite the fancy flavor description, none of those flavors are there when you smoke this blend. In fact, it smells and looks like a very, very cheap black cavendish. One of the few blends that I threw away after a few bowls. CAO really dropped the ball with these blends, and this is the worst of the bunch. There are a host of rich aromatics which are light years better than this abomination. Any of the Sillem's blends are excellent choices, for example.

Complex indeed and very sweet but I would shine brightly if it were not for the chemical flavor that dominates everything.
This would be a great tobacco were it not for that. I can't even identify it specifically. Its just got this lakeland perfume chemical thing going on in front of the good stuff. I gave this to a friend who actually got sick from it.
This stuff is pricey enough, so don't waste your money honey on chemical perfumes in the toby.

It is worth noting that I find little to enjoy in aromatics. I've tried many recommendations and fan favorites but most disappoint in the flavor department. I don't find this to be the case for EO. I gave it a go after Muttnchop Piper's recommendation on his Youtube channel and I am glad I did.
Unlike most aro's, the blend does not depend on the topping for flavor. The sweetness of the Virginas comes through as well as the cigar leaf addition, which adds complexity. Certainly gives off a "vanilla latte" taste with notes of chocolate and nuts. It is quite a dry smoke for an aro as well.
English/Balkans and Va/Pers are my main blends but EO is a wonderful addition to occasionally smoke for a change of pace or to bring out when guests are over.

Boy, don’t know what to say. Everybody loves Eileen’s dream. Nothing but good comments. When Muttonchops on utube says it’s good, I buy it. BUT this stuff leaves me flat. Lots of big clouds of puffy smoke. Burns well. One light. But, no flavor, burns hot, lots of bite, blah! Smoked 3 bowls to give it a chance, but nothing. Used different pipes. Update: thought I smoke a few more bowls to give it a chance. Should be renamed, Eileen’s nightmare. Bland, no flavor, taste more like alfalfa then anything. So I will date it, and put it in the stash. Pretty tin.

First let me say that I smoke only aromatics, so none of those "for an aromatic" comments. That being said, this one just didn't float my boat. I ordered a CAO sampler and this was my least favorite. Pouch note was pleasant, but there was a sharp edge to smoking it, not a bite but I suspect it was the irish creme. I was let down as I consume a fair amont of irish cream in my coffee, but just couldn't see the similarities. On the plus side, my irish wife really liked the empty tin!

I bought a tin of this at my local tobacco shop. I loaded up my pipe, and fell in love. This blend isn't too sweet, but sweet enough. I'm new to the whole smoking thing, but I strongly suggest this blend to new smokers. It is a great slow smoke, very smooth inhale (When I do inhale). It bites only if you smoke it too quickly and one tin lasts a fair bit of time. Much better than Moon Trance.

I really like this blend, the smell in the tin led me to believe the actual tobacco would be overpowering while smoking it, but I was pleasantly surprised when it was smooth without any bite. The downside is that the tobacco is completely masked.

Another great Aromatic from CAO. Burns clean and dry as Moontrance does. Packs and lights well, and delivers a great amount of creamy smoke with little effort. I would recommend this much more than your bulk B&M Irish Cream tobaccos.
Small sips let the subtle flavorings come to the forefront. The Irish Cream is very noticable, the Chocolate is there, but more as an undertone.
Pairs well with a coffee and Bailey's.

You want sweet? You got it! This stuff has a casing unlike any tobacco I've ever tasted. Full, sweet, chocolaty, but minty too. I am reminded of Girl Scouts Thin Mints when I smoke this stuff. The room note is an absolute pleasure and the taste is heavenly. I opened the tin and my first impression was not good. The tin smelled almost sickly sweet and the tobacco was rather sticky and clumped. It will not smoke well right out of the tin, but give it a week or so with the hermetic seal on the lid broken, and the tobacco flavor will shine through the casing very nicely after that. Nice toasty Burley flavor with LOADS of everyone's favorite sweet treat, Black Cavendish. All I can say about room note and taste is that they are one and the same. Chocolate, mint, Irish Cream, and awesome. That's how it is. This is a delightful smoke that for as much sugar as it has, smokes surprisingly cool, and stays lit most of the time. Pack it loose though or you'll go through a box of kitchen matches like it's your job. This is a sweet, high quality aromatic that can be enjoyed by all. Good to smoke in non smoking company. You'll get maybe one or two complaints and then they'll smell it and forget what they were saying mid-sentence.

This tobacco surprised me in several ways, most of them good. When the tin pops open you get white chocolate right up front. The bailies comes out about half way through the bowl. Although you couldn't guess it from the outstanding room note, this is a pretty stout smoke. The flavors are there but definitely not at the loss of the solid smooth tobacco taste. It can burn a little hot, but I didn't get any bite. This would be a good wife pleaser for those of you who smoke English blends that like to occasionally dabble in aromatics. If you are a fan of very mild aro's I'd skip it, if you like a heavy hitter with a smell that gets you invited into the bedroom, instead of thrown out of the house altogether, this is a good one to try.

First thing i notice when i opened the tin , what a wonderful desert smell ! White chocolaty, creamy smell like a freshly bake vanilla/liquor cake.
It was very moist out but you can expect that from mostly any aromatic out there.(still it burn very nicely , few relight needed) But that a good thing , make you sip it slower to taste all the flavors this aromatic have to offer. When you light it , the first few drags make the room smell like a coffee shop /bakery . Every drag you can detect a different part of the topping but the one that come out the most in my opinion is the irish cream , very pleasant on the tongue . Its a very complex aromatic . Maybe this blend can aged well due to the Virginia/Cigar Leaf component . I smoke an aromatic like 1-2 time a month max , but this one i could easily smoke it once a week with a morning cup of coffee

Nondescript, faint chocolate tin aroma.
VERY ‘moist’...let dry overnight with minor effect.
Smoked with both 3 stage, and Frank packing...this tobacco likes a loose pack.
Bland taste. Honestly unremarkable. Zero flavours jump at the beginning/middle/end of bowl.
Easy enough to manage. Few relights, smoked better when ash was tipped out. Burns cool enough (if packed well). No goop per se in the bowl, but it’s heavily soaked in PG.
Always verged on a bite. Again packing this tobacco makes all the difference to keep that at bay.
All in all. Very very light flavours, no sweetness, any toppings or casings are lost completely... low key ‘pipe tobacco’ room note.
Honestly. There are far better aromatics available, many in bulk where your dollar will go much farther.
Sorry CAO...this one is just...disappointing.

Eileen's Dream: A bowl of meh
The topping is sweet with a pleasant creamy vanilla topping and some liqueur, but is not heavily applied like some other American aromatics. Yet, the tobaccos still seem to get lost and muddled. The black cavendish adds a creamy texture to the smoke and the bright Virginias offer some grassy-crispness. There is just not enough flavor in either the topping or the tobacco to make it stand out from its competitors. The tobacco also gets a bit goopy. On second thought, I would pass on another bowl of Eileen's Dream.
Edit: August 2019 I am picking up on a little earthiness from the cigar leaf. That at least pushes this up this blend to two stars as it helps it stand out a little from other similar aromatic blends.

CAO – Eileen’s Dream
I purchased a sample of this as a part of a special offered by an online retailer in conjunction with a YouTube piping channel. Since I began my piping journey again in the last year or so I have made a point to try and stay away from aromatics. I think that was a wise decision.
Opening the tin (ziplock bag) and I get a very strong whiff of what smells like Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur. I should mention that I do not care for Bailey’s. I get virtually no tobacco scent out of this.
The tobacco is in what I would call a ribbon cut, dark brown with some lighter strands. It feels almost greasy to the touch.
Upon lighting I’m greeted with the overpowering taste of Irish cream, and not much else. I cannot taste any tobacco here, though my palate perhaps is not nearly as sophisticated as others’. After about the halfway point the cream taste disappears to be replaced with nothing. It tastes like hot air and not much else.
Would say that I was disappointed but I was frankly not expecting much out of this to begin with. Thankfully I only had to purchase what amounts to about three bowls. Unless you really love the taste of Bailey’s and prefer not to have any taste of tobacco at all in your aromatics I would steer clear of this one.

The aroma is largely vanilla, maybe some whisky or honey. The flavor is similar, and actually like how it is flavored. Definitely white chocolate and Irish creme. I get a sense of graham cracker, and overall it is reminiscent of a s'more - as a whole, other than the graham cracker I can't pick up individual marshmallow and milk chocolate flavors. It is not overly sweet like a dessert vape might be, and this is an excellent aromatic.

I will start this off by saying the tin I received is new packaging, where half the label warns you about dying if you smoke it. Fun. Don't know if the blend is any different.
Tin note was utterly unlike how their cigarillos smell or taste. Not nearly as rich and creamy, instead a sort of dark chocolate or liquor, but not exactly in a good way. Set it out to dry, and even 15 minutes later there was no noticeable change in moisture (which was very damp and sticky). It was extremely difficult to light, and tasted of cheap tobacco and some sort of half-assed cream liquor. Room note was about how it tasted. Somehow even the suspicious cigarillos I have for these, with the wrong band design and paper binder, tasted and smelled better than this. Very disappointing for CAO.

I 100% agree with pappageorgio I am too victim of Muttonchp recommendation. There too many flavorings as mentioned in description then again in flavouring that all of them mixed up and gave me a tin note of McDonald's men's room... couldn't with stand the smell and emptied some flat on paper towel to air it out in a hope it's gets better but effort in vain. Smoked quarter of a bowl and dumped it out and put the rest of tobacco in a jar let's hope it gets better. Not smoking again till after some good aging.

Because the online tobacco website always seem to have CAO on sale, I just assumed it was a cheap crappy blend, so I was reluctant to ever buy anything by them. Well one day I made the plunge into thriftiness and bought one to complete an order... I was not disappointed.
Contrary to what I would of guessed, Eileen's Dream was not dripping in wet toppings and had a very pleasant chocolate and yes even Irish cream taste. It sort of reminded me of a lighter version of Lane's BCA. It had just the right amount of sweetness and maintained it all the way to the end. It burned like a champ as well.
I tend to write my reviews within the first half of smoking a tin while everything is still fresh inside, but this time I almost made it through the tin before I realized I hadn't jotted my thoughts down. It was that tasty.
This was not over-the-top candy, had a nice rich oily smoke, and little bite. It likely will please most palettes, and even a few non-aromatic fans as well.

I just started smoking pipes and got this in a sampler pack from pipes and cigars. I've tried about a dozen different tobaccos and this is a good go to that I know I'll enjoy. When I opened it I could really smell the irish cream and chocolate. Seems like a lot of people get concerned by that strong smell, but it smelled great to me.
Smoking it was very pleasent. That's the best I can describe it. Very smooth with a good hint of the cream and chocolate. Nothing overpowering, but you can definitely taste it. No tongue bite at all. Very pleasent room note too. Overall a good smoke for a beginner smoker.

The tin note was bland, even more bland when smoking. Room note was pleasant. Taste was very bland with no discernable flavors. Bland flavor was consistent until the last ¼ bowl at which point it becamen bitter and ashy. Extremely disappointing. I had looked forward to this blend the most. Moisture was prefect for smoking and required no drying. Smoked to the finish. NOT an entirely bad blend. Just bland and disappointing.

OK, Eileen's Dream has been on my radar for some time as I am a fan of some CAO cigars ("some" is kind of important word here - I absolutely love some of their cigars while I've had other CAO cigars that were nothing but a bitter disappointment). I finally got myself a tin. Well, what can I say. The aroma is not at all as overwhelming as I expected based on some reviews here. It is also utterly pleasant smell, I must add. Eileen's Dream kind of unfolds its flavors, but you don't have to wait for it very long - not like smoking 2/3 of the pipe before it kicks in. There is a definite tobacco flavor underneath the cocoa taste explosion. Tobacco smoked nice and cold and got me to the bottom of the bowl without the need of relighting. I like that. To me, I can see Eileen's Dream in a very regular rotation as it is just relaxing and overall pleasant experience. This is one CAO that does not dissapoint!

I’ve had a tin sitting in the cellar for a couple years and just cracked it open for St. Paddy’s day. It instantly went the into the top three of my aromatic list. Smooth and delicious. There’s white chocolate, hazelnut, a hint of whiskey, and yes even tobacco after the first few minutes. There’s a vanilla undertone that’s more natural than most vanilla aros, almost like vanilla cream. The thing that really won me over was the burn. Although it took a few aggressive lights at the start that nearly gave tongue bite, it burned better than any heavy aro I’ve ever had. All the way down to ash. Never gurgled. Of course it pleases everyone around as well. I imagine this will ghost, so I’d only smoke this in a dedication pipe. Perfect for after a savory meal with friends, and it pairs well with a cold Guinness.
Note: I tried this in a filtered pipe, occasionally removing and then reinserting the filter, and found that it’s much smoother and cooler with the filter, without losing the delicious flavor.

If you are looking for a very tasty aromatic I don’t think this could possibly disappoint. It is not a sticky gloopy mess like so many heavily flavored aros seem to be.
Tin note is amazing. Not sure about the room note but I imagine it would be pretty darn good.
First bowl of this I was kind of underwhelmed. What flavor there was was good but wasn’t much there. Then I slowed way down on my cadence…Upon reflection this blend is just phenomenal. Now, it might have been the cob lending a little bit of sweetness but when sipped barely above what it takes to keep things lit there is a ton of flavor here.
Smooth, creamy caramel goodness, hazelnut galore. And so sweet!!!!
Obviously will ghost a pipe (I found myself sniffing the pipe I have been smoking this in it smelt so good).
This has earned a permanent place on my shelf. If it weren’t for curiosity I don’t think I would bother ever trying another aromatic.
Go slow and this blend is an absolute winner.

I remember the first time I ever had Irish Cream. It was near Christmas and I was about 14, my Nan splashed some in my coffee after dinner without saying a word. It wasn't until I took a sip that I realized it wasn't an ordinary creamer. Now CAO makes some excellent tobacco, and I have smoked some of their cigars so I bought this to try.
The tin is fun. Opening up you see and nice mixture of Cavendish and Virginia. The smell. It's delightful. I can smell the white chocolate, and I do get the Irish Cream. This tobacco comes moist so some dry time will help. However, I've found that one of the best ways to avoid tongue bite on an aromatic is by smoking it in a long-stemmed pipe such as a churchwarden. It does light well, and it keeps a light.
Right after the charing light we get into some nice flavors. The Irish Cream comes up front followed by the chocolate. The aromatic toppings are consistent throughout the bowl. I can taste some of the base tobacco. The Cavendish adds a really nice toasty note coupled with caramelized sweetness. The Virginias are lost a little bit, I think they provide more body than anything else.
The taste. I give this a medium that is edging itself close to a medium-full. The taste is consistent, mouth filling, and lovely. The strength is a fair medium. If I smoke aromatics it's usually in the evening or on a warmer day. The room note on this is amazing and should pull some of your friends in.

Very enjoyable, heavily cased/flavored aromatic. I wouldn't say it was goopy but it was pretty close, which isn't to say it wasn't excellent. I was a bit skeptical when I bought it because I didn't have a lot of confidence in the CAO brand but it is a really well-done, smokable sweet tooth mix. My go-to blends are English/Balkans but sometimes I like a nice aromatic. This is a really nice classic Danish. Enjoy!

I rate this blend 7 out of 10
It is a VERY sweet and flavorful aromatic. Almost TOO sweet. When I first lit it up it was like eating a dessert....wonderfully delicate. Every single time I smoked this blend around other people I got compliments about how good it smelled. A definite crowd pleaser!
That being said, there is not much actual tobacco flavor coming through to taste, so if you are looking for a tobacco that is mildly aromatic...pass this one on by. If you are looking for nothing but a can of sweet goodness, though, give Eileen's Dream a try!
If you like this tobacco and want to try another that is super sweet and very high quality give Mac Baren Cube Gold a try. It is also VERY sweet and flavorful, yet somehow manages to not cover up the natural tobacco flavor at the same time. Could be a good step up from Eileen's dream toward the ultimate goal (according to some) of moving toward the sophistication of smoking "english" only blends.
A side note: One thing I have learned from reading reviews on this site is that tobacco tastes are very subjective and just because a lot of other people like (or DON'T like) a blend does not necessarily mean it will be one that I personally enjoy...so for that reason I encourage you to please take these reviews and ratings with a grain of salt.

So I am smoking as I am reviewing. I visited a wonderful B&M and saw this on the shelf. I decided to go for it without anyarticular reference.
On reading the description I was looking forward to it. Tin note was average. I asked my family to guess the flavoring prior to telling them what it was. No one got it right, but the general concensus was that it had a nice sweet, but undefined aroma. I liked the look of the tobacco, dark with some nice lighter tobacco mingled in.
Lighting was very easy, and I definitely like the thick billowing white smoke. However, at the beginning the taste was definitely undefined, sweet, but not noticeably Irish cream related......a little disappointing at the beginning. A slight bite, but nothing I can't deal with. I'm definitely getting some gurgle, maybe a bit more than I would like.
Towards the middle of the bowl the taste starts to become more defined, and my enjoyment levels start to rise. My initial thoughts of a 2 rating are now moving to a 3!
In conclusion, I can definitely give it a 3, but if I want a more defined sweet taste, I will still stick with my Sutcliff Molto Dolce. I will keep it in my rotation for a relaxing smoke.

Nice tin note, really has some good looking tobacco leaves. There is some slight broken flake in this that I found. Has some nice chocolate and cream waft to it. This is a very clean smoke for an Aromatic. Right out of the tin, for me at least it smoked to the bottom with only a slight bit of moisture on the heel of the pipe. I liked this a bit less than the bulk Irish Cream I was smoking, and in the end, I will go back to the bulk as it is of course cheaper and a better Irish Creme. Don't get me wrong, as an Aromatic goes this is a very nice one, but bulk in this instance is a better blend.

I started out as a cigar smoker, smoking CAO cigars. Decided to try this one for that reason. It smells really good, tastes very sweet, but after a while it gets to be too sweet.
I stopped smoking mine and left it in the tin for a few months and now it's very dry and unsmokeable so I use it as a air freshener, which is a good thing to do if you dont like this stuff.

This was my first aromatic, and I have to say when I first opened the tin I was immediately intimidated by the sickly sweet scent. I'm a lover of Bailey's, but wow did this turn me off. I'm glad I persevered and tried a bowl, though, because this was a fast favorite.
The flavor is deliciously creamy, and the room note is heavenly. It lit very easily, even for this tobacco novice, and only required one relight about halfway through the bowl.
I smoked my second bowl with a strong cup of tea. Delicious.

First of all, there is no cigar leaf in this blend (as is stated in a review below). Second, the taste that "lingers" (again mentioned in a review below...what tobacco doesn't leave a lingering taste?) is fairly sweet and creamy. Eileen's Dream was one of my first blends for my first pipe, and the cake inside the bowl is now comprised of nothing but this blend. I have dedicated my first bowl to this tobacco and set aside some tins for aging. Considering that many/most aromatics are extremely syrupy and don't always taste as good as they smell, this one is a spectacular exception. The Irish Creme and White Chocolate continue to offer their harmonic tastes until the very last puff, unlike some aromatics that lose their topping soon after the bowl is lit. Furthermore, the sweet Cavendish is not completely masked by the flavors. Instead, the tobacco's natural taste gives a nice creamy touch to the sweet mix. This is a fantastic blend anytime of day, but is especially wonderful with a morning cup of coffee or on a cold dark night. 4/4 stars. Great place to start for beginners.

If you like Bailey's... this one's not to miss. It's a little stronger on the tongue than I anticipated, but I guess you get at least a little of that with most aromatics.

This is a good aromatic, when it says on the tin that it has irish cream and white chocolate truffles it means it. It smokes very evenly, and in the 5 bowls of it that I have had, it has not disappointed, or needed a relight. Overall, I give it a good 4/5 stars

This blend is a fantastic Aromatic with both bold flavors and subtle flavors. Blend needed no dry time and burned very well with only a single relight. I would dump the very bottom of the bowl because I found it gets a little dull at that point. Has a great room note and could be an all day smoke. The creaminess and nuttiness make this very enjoyable in the morning.

Mostly known for its market position as a leading provider of premium cigars, CAO selectively brands this featured mild Scandinavian Tobacco Group aromatic mixture within the folds of their extended product line of choice smokables. A well-trained, intensely top-coated selection of Black Cavendish and assorted Virginian strains forms the essential baseline of the recipe. Stylishly arriving in a fashionable shamrock adorned tin, Eileen’s Dream gets the full Gaelic up reeling with a sweetened jig of lively Irish Mist whiskey, posh cream, milk of coconut, savory white chocolate delight, a quaint nutty emulsion, and a final blessing of Mother Machree’s very own enhanced vanilla.
Opening the tightly sealed cannister unveiled a densely packed mass of skillfully crafted thin ribbons of refined copper and golden-browned Virginian leaf. These strands are handsomely clustered with an equal gathering of blackened coarse-cut pieces of European styled Cavendish. An emanant fragrance flushed with a veritable plethora of notable elements opulently greets the senses. Get ready for it’s a long one indeed. In specific, this most original tinned aroma nurtures a spicy note of spry whiskey, sweet cream, some cloying nuttiness, hints of softer fruity-vanilla, sugary chocolate, bright tarty grass, and the graces of regulated sour and passive wood elegantly lifting with impressive splendor. Whew! To merely say that Eileen’s Dream has a bolstered state of exciting fragrance would be a shabby declaration of the simple truth.
Let me clearly say, this mixture is one of those compulsory aromatics that has been on my hopelessly doomed trial list for a sheer eternity with not much follow-on action at that. Yet selectively nudged by the impetus of Muttnchop’s February Blend Club agenda, finally I was forced to move forward in pulling the forgotten dusty tin from the ridiculously bloated hoarding I call a personal cellar. And now having smoked the blend as prescribed by the reverent hosting emcee, shamefully, I am somewhat beside myself for unwisely burying it into the far reaches of neglectful oblivion.
In prefacing the ensuing taste profile, at least for the first two thirds of the bowl, Eileen’s Dream proved to be effectually top-dressing privileged as no real great surprise. Even so, I detected the native tobaccos daintily registering in the procession of composite flavor, although somewhat curtailed at best. However, about the last third of the pipe, the strengthened effect of these coatings attenuated to a level that allowed for the pleasant influence of the citrusy laced Red Virginia to push through, still comfortingly sweet and seasoned with an attractive natural herbal woody flair. On that note, I should disclose that the smoking of this blend was surprisingly a slow metered experience, meaning the extended duration and accompanying savor that followed were quite impressive for a heavily infused aromatic.
Upon striking the charring light, I could tell immediately that this mixture would prove to be an intensely complex excursion, as the first waning faux notes of the sugary bliss proceeded to hit my palate with celebrated introduction. Once the pipe came to practice with proper smoking formality, the magnificence of Eileen’s very dream was put on display for my captured discretion.
With unreserved candor, an energized swell of colorful moving pleasantness overcame the initial tasting. The tobacco proved to exercise no delay in coming boldly forward with a sweet dense creaminess in line with French-styled vanilla expertly fused with the sugary succulence of milky white chocolate. Taken back by the assertively enchanting specter, I found myself genuinely charmed by this character of tremendously buttery, malty, and elegantly cultured brilliance; straight talk my friends.
As I became less fixated on the latter, my sense noted the equally prominent bundling of the resident liqueur as bracing evidence of its presence projected with tandem embellishment. For itself, the Irish Mist came into notice, primarily recording with a healthy impression of spirited alcohol spice, a dark sugar/honeyed herbal quality and just a manageable glimpse of a very delicate cherry-like fruitiness on the trailing accent. The confluence of these two principal streams defines the standard persona of this mixture’s leading characterization.
Furthermore, I soon discovered a pacifying lower nuance contained by the combined bands of flavor was annotated by a burnished nut-centric note. Specifically, what registered were indications of the thinned soft chocolatey undertones of toasty hazelnut and the bitter, blanched affluence of standard almond. These nutty condimental projections, when combined with the overtly sweet whiskey spiced coalescence transpiring above, solidified the uniquity of character of the blend’s memorable and complex persona. And as a final perplexing development, I consistently sensed a mystery seasoning that expressed itself as something between nutmeg and of all imaginable things, paprika. As to the native varietals, in adding to what I have already mentioned, the Virginia resided constantly on the core bottom mostly of Red attributes, primarily herby seasoned salty wood with an occasional bright flash of floral tinge. Not to mention, the Bright itself did manifest a very light tangerine-like/citric accent which surfaced as an amusing bonus feature.
Optimally functioning in its fundamental capacity of smartly melding flavors, the Cavendish directly rendered a facet of sugared earthiness that was strong in the base profile. The magnetism of its zesty worth was well felt within the nasal passage that is for sure. Final assessment revealed a bit of soiled, soured wood painted with a spearmint hearted climax as the trailing finale of its essential contribution.
And what can I say of Eileen’s Dreams expired room essence other than exquisitely delightful. As one should imagine, the luxury of fragrance evoked by its hearty plumes of candied smoke is nothing short of very pleasant by final judgment. Just a succulently sweet and light-bodied marriage of all the assorted condiments and principally the earthy woodiness of the Red leaf seemed to come in unison to produce perhaps one of the finest aromatic traces that I have chance encountered. It was as if I stepped into Willy Wonka’s factory on get a free shot of Wooden Cork Day my friends, as that provides a close approximation of the experienced scent of this mixture. Too much satiating goodness in basic terms.
If you are so inclined to engage in a trial of this quality STG production, discovery will expose that the critical mechanical features perform at a level commensurate with honest blending excellence. Again, for a heavily alcohol and flavoring steeped tobacco, being Virginia focused at that, the burn was consistently even and modest in temperature. The smoke quality itself, as well as the moving flavor streams, were delectably creamy with no harsh edging in the transitions. Moreover, the mixture posed no discomfort whatsoever in terms of disrespect to the palate. And last, the mellowing savor of the excitable complexity led to a stellar smoking indulgence.
So, there you have it folks, my bottom-line on this one, I liked Eileen and her dream told. 3.5 Pipes

I'm generally not an aromatic smoker, but I still had higher hopes for this one. The description makes it sound more elegant and complex than it smoked in my experience. There is far too much Cavendish for me in this blend, almost to the point of overwhelming everything else. The flavoring was one of any of the dozens of run-of-the-mill Vanilla Cavendish blends out there. And it smoked a bit harsh. A very mediocre blend.

Not sure if I can beat Old6String review but this is my take. The tin note was very pleasant, aromas of cocoa, Irish cream and a nutty hazelnut.
This is the second of the CAO blends I’ve tried. The first of which was Moontrance, which I enjoyed but had traces of a chemical taste toward the end. Unlike Moontrance, Eileen’s Dream did not have any chemical taste at all.
It was a pleasant smoke all the way to the end. No tongue bite on this one. I had a few relights, but that was attributed to packing too tight. The second round was much smoother after allowing it to dry some and a lighter pack. This is definitely one of my favorite Aromatics. Enjoy!

The arona once u opened the tin is magnific, supreme, i had to hold myself not to take a tobacco strip and eat. IMO the best aromatic, nothing less than it. You dont feel the heavy chemicals the 'aros' used to carry. Doesn´t cover your tongue in a thick layer of PG. Burns very well, no need many relights, smokes dry. The tobacco flavor is the main actor here, the background switches from cocoa to vanilla, nuts and cream. The cigar leaf provides the body that the aromatics are not used to have. its a grade AAA tobacco you should give a try.

White chocolate and vanilla bean with a hint of what reminds me of Malibu Rum liquor, though there's supposedly no coconut in this blend, it's probably the Irish Mist liquor I'm picking up.
I'm an aromatic fan and this one is pretty good, though it has that CAO chemical taste in the back there, hidden. Stays lit and smokes just a bit hot but not too badly with a pleasant room scent. Tobacco flavor is mostly non-existent.

Smoking now:
Let dry for a few minutes from the tin. Tin note isn’t as strong as I thought it would be. Smells like an Irish cream. It’s nice.
Lights and packs well and stays lite for an aromatic. Tastes of light creamy vanilla, hazelnut, and toasted sugar. The cavendish gives it sweet toasty sugar notes. It’s mild, pleasant, no harshness or chemical taste. The retrohale is nice. I pushed it slightly in a meerschaum and it didn’t get harsh or bite. Corncob pipe had the same results. The room note is non offensive and pleasant. The flavor stayed pretty consistent.
It’s not an aromatic flavor bomb, it’s mild and easy going. It does taste like it smells. So bravo. For an aromatic it’s pretty good. Flavor stays pretty consistent though out the first half of the bowl. Does leave some moisture in the bowl as expected .
If I need an aromatic to smoke around people, I’ll reach for this again.
update Nov 21, 2021
As I finish the tin (yes it’s been this long) I’ll give my final thoughts. Sweet, a mild tobacco taste, no bad aftertaste, with a nice room note. It does taste as it smells and that’s what I want from an aromatic. If you like aromatics or need one to smoke around people this is a good one.

When I started smoking pipes many years ago I took on a few blends: Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey, Captain Black Original, CAO Eileen's Dream, and Peterson Sherlock Holmes.
I decided to get back to all of these and review them after all these years. See if they bring any memories, do I recommend them or not now that I got more experience?
Here's my #4 and last review: CAO's Eileen's Dream.
First of all, the tin note is outstanding. I mostly get Vanilla and coffee, maybe with some dark chocolate. One of the best tin notes out there.
There's a lot in it when you smoke the blend and I'm not sure I can detect it all. Whatever it is, it has a perfect balance. The cigar leaf is very mild and only adds a bit of volume to the mixture. The black Cavendish is noticeable, as is the sweet Virginia base. In terms of added flavor, the vanilla takes the lead and maintain its flavor throughout most of the smoke, backed by that same coffee note and bit of dark chocolate that I got from the tin note, which gives it a beautiful twist from the other Vanilla blends. This is not a super-sweet blend, though.
Comes in a little moist. Let it dry for a bit. Ribbon cut, easy to pack, light, and smoke. Doesn't get too hot, doesn't bite. The flavor is fairly consistent. Average number of relights. Can be an all-day smoke.
Mild-medium in body, mild in strength. The aroma is fantastic and will make people around you happy.
There is a famous Israeli song that begins with "May it never end". That's what came to mind when I reached for my almost empty tin. I'd buy a few more tins of this blend. When it comes to aromatics, it's definitely one of my favorites.

The creamy vanilla & white chocolate note is apparent when first opening the tin, and upon first lighting. A bit of hazelnut comes through as well, though doesn't seem as strong. All of these flavors I get throughout the entire bowl, though everything fades as you go. At times I do get a bit of the virginia tobacco especially towards the end. It lists cigar leaf but I have not yet detected it during a smoke.
Fairly moist, and leaves moisture at the bottom of the bowl. Didn't notice I had to relight it more than normal.
Amazing fragrance, and an awesome combo of flavors as you smoke. A must for the aromatic lovers.

The cream and chocolate make up the bulk of the blend for me. There is a slight whiskey note to it, but it's not as pronounced as the other two. The cigar leaf (which I didn't notice at first) adds some good strength to the blend to keep it from being overly aromatic. Very well balanced, and one I'd recommend, however, it loses some of it's flavor later during the smoke, which is why I can't give it four stars.

Been smoking for the past week and it has grown on me, possibly because it has been dried a bit since receiving? In any case this is a fine smoke. I find that the subtlety of the flavor is the best part about this aromatic. We wouldn't get the chocolate truffle taste if it was too strong or sweet and the Irish cream would be masked. It's not something to smoke if you want a lot of tobacco flavor, and I don't think that is the point of it. It is a nice subtle smoke with a hint of cocoa and a pleasant room note, great for smoking around non-smokers and great with a coffee or as a desert replacement. Not an everyday smoke, but that is why we try new things. I certainly recommend keeping a tin around.

Nice aromatic here. The tin note is not as strong as I was expecting. Chocolate, vanilla, truffles and Irish Cream. You and definitely smell the alcohol topping. Sometimes it is a bit sharp and it does translate into the smoke which can be distracting but, over all its not a big deal. The smoke a washes your mouth with a sweet chocolatey coating. It’s great with a cup of coffee. The tobacco flavors do come through as well. The moisture was spot on and I had no issues with keeping it lit. The room note is as expected. Sweet. Even though this tobacco was ready to smoke directly from the tin I let mine air for about 15 minutes on a paper towel before loading my bowl. After the char the tobacco fired right up for a very pleasing smoke with only one re-light needed to finish the bowl.
The tobacco has a wonderful tin aroma of vanilla and chocolate with a pleasant musty tobacco odor in the background. When smoked the vanilla and chocolate fad to the background with mild tobacco flavors coming to the front. The vanilla and chocolate are always present but they are never full-frontal they stay in the background making each draw on the pipe interesting and tasty.
Unlike with many aromatics I suffered no tongue bite with this tobacco. It was enjoyable from beginning to end.
For me, Eileen's Dream will become my early morning smoke. It's great with coffee and helps start the day on a pleasant note. I highly recommend this tobacco.

I like the idea of aromatic tobaccos. In theory, the concept is great. In practice, they tend to leave me disappointed. That being said, Eileen's Dream is the best aromatic I've smoked. I suspect that this is due in large part to CAO using decent quality tobacco instead of just casing the hell out of the floor sweepings, but I digress.... The flavor is both noticeable and enjoyable, and remains fairly consistent throughout the bowl - provided that you don't puff too hard/fast on it. Better than Lane 1Q and C&D Autumn Evening, which didn't impress me much - and those are both considered to be really good aromatics by the pipe smoking community, from what I've seen. The second half of the bowl tends to produce a thick, creamy smoke, and I typically end up dumping the last 20-25% of the bowl, as there is a dottle buildup that doesn't burn so well at the end.
This isn't really a favorite blend for me, but it is my favorite aromatic. Not an everyday smoke, but it's nice for a changeup from my usuals, and it has a pleasing room note too.

Eileen's Dream is an aromatic tobacco I would find on every pipe smoker's "aromatics to try" list. I ordered this blend along with many others from SmokingPipes.com not knowing what to truly expect. Upon opening the tin notes of cream and chocolate can be detected, but its not very strong. After packing this blend and lighting it, I was blown away by how good this blend actually is, some aromatics go overboard with the flavouring, but Eileen's Dream makes it work with the tobacco, meaning you get a mild Virginia flavour with hints of the chocolate and cream! The cream flavour is more prominent than the "chocolate truffles". Overall I was impressed with this one and recommend it.

After hearing a Youtuber I respect very much recommend this blend, I wasn’t hesitant to buy a tin of Eileen’s Dream. The tin itself is exquisite. I love the art and the color scheme. Inside, there are a few bits of twig, but not enough to discourage me from re-purchasing. Here’s my impressions after enjoying the whole tin…
Opening the tin leads to a great aroma of chocolate and vanilla. I wouldn’t go so far as to say truffles. The Irish Cream is there, as well as hazelnut, but neither is overwhelming. I may be alone here, but I also detected a very faint spiciness, which also came through in the smoke; but more on that later.
The moisture from the tin is slightly damp, but not far off of perfect. Smoking directly from the tin turned out just fine, but the blend definitely improved with a little drying time. The blend packs well. Inside the pipe before I touched a flame to it, I’ll be darned if I didn’t get an overwhelming taste of fig newton cookies. This was out of an unsmoked churchwarden, but your mileage may vary.
The blend lights well, and scores 10/10 for holding a flame. Throughout the entire tin, I only had to relight a bowl once or twice after my primary light. Once lit, the chocolate and Irish cream really come through. The tobacco is sweet, but not overly. Imagine taking dark, bittersweet chocolate and mixing it with a light, unsweet Irish cream. That’s what you’re purchasing in this blend. The tobacco however isn’t so heavily cased that that it kills the tobacco flavor. There’s still a nice Cavendish in there, and it the flavors all complement one another. I also get a slight spiciness in the blend; just enough to let you know it’s there by tickling the throat.
This blend is not overly complex, but is certainly not one dimensional. I wouldn’t recommend if for an all-day smoke. You really have to sip on it gently, or it will bite with a vengeance. All in all, I highly recommend this blend. It will do well in an aromatic smoker’s rotation, or an English smoker looking for a small treat every now and then.

After 3 tins of ED, I still feel unable to deliver an unwavering verdict. So I will give the points as they lie. Big points for the topping! They are skillfully and artfully used, and it is only due to the menagerie of flavorings involved that one cannot simply tune into one, a couple, or a desired selection. These are unique flavors in the pipe but also pair exceedingly well with the pipe tobacco class. You will get vanilla, you will find cooa, you will sense Irish creme, nuts, and even fleeting bourbon. Anything negative I may point out has to do with the limited atmospheric factors under which I can enjoy the blend. ED is much more enjoyable and favorable in cool, arid conditions. It will still smoke capably in warmer, more humid conditions. You just won't notice the flavorings to be so pleasant, and likely will take a turn to the boring, nondescript, and mundane. I like to keep a little of this around in a much dryer state to enjoy when the whim strikes.
UPDATE: I'm dropping this one a star. The last tin I opened has been a real challenge, very hot and bitey. And if there's one thing I can't stand it's a hot-smoking aromatic. Flavors are still pretty great, it's a shame it wants to punish me. But maybe as some topping dries off of it the blend will behave a little better.

I would place this in the category of a beginner aromatic. A very mild smoke with some and I do mean some flavor. This is just not a real complex smoke and the tobacco flavor is just not there. Tin opening is nice but pretty monochromatic. Mixture was really damp and required a good bit of drying time. Light up was a little difficult and required several relights during smoke. Big burst of flavor at the start that quickly went away. The issue I have with this blend is the underlying tobacco flavor is also missing. This is just not much in the way of an interesting blend. It is not complex nor is it big on taste or flavor. This is just a very bland blend with nothing to want to return for a second smoke.

The only other CAO blend I had tried prior to this was Cherrybomb, which I found to be a hot burning goop fest, so my expectations for this weren't very high to begin with. Tin note is not overpowering, but distinctly white chocolate with a hint of creaminess. Coarse ribbon cut makes for easy packing. A bit moist out of the tin, but not excessively so for an aro. Lights easily and stays lit pretty well. I'm sure if you puffed hard you'd get bit, but I wasn't overly cautious and I had not problems, which is saying something because I usually have to be careful, as I'm naturally prone to tongue bite no matter what I smoke. The flavor was pretty mild, but definitely as advertised. A slow, well paced smoke is necessary to glean the maximum flavor from this blend, but overall, pretty mild. The VA comes through in the background. Overall not too bad. I don't see myself committing to stocking up on this, but I can see myself buying a tin every now and then to shake things up. One of the better aros out there IMHO. Smokes best in a briar. Meer didn't agree with this blend for some reason.

I'm not a big fan of aromatics, nor liqueur-added tobaccos, in general, though a good chocolate or vanilla, or even a high-quality cherry (eg, Peter Stokkebye Chocolate Bon Bon) will hit me right. Eileen's Dream is just damn good. I get more chocolate than Irish Cream in the tin note, but it is delectable. Moisture was just about right and it sang to the match and burned well, with great flavor to the bottom of the bowl.
I have a diabolical chemical sensitivity that makes most aromatics off limits. For example, Prince Albert burns my tongue up. This one did not. It could use a tad more tobacco flavor, but those less addicted to nicotine will find the taste and strength level just fine. I'm not much of a fan of CAO tobaccos in general, but ED shines. If you like a whiff of chocolate now and then, you absolutely have to try it.

A bit on the wet and gloopy side, but overall a good quality tobacco. I enjoyed this one very much. The tin note is incredible, and some of that flavor transpires into the smoke as well, which can't always be said for all aromatics. Overall, a nice after dinner treat.

This was included in a package purchase and I was disappointed with the flavor (or lack of). When the description says subtle flavors, they are very subtle. On the plus side it was a mild smoke.

I just picked up a tin of this to try. First smoke was excellent. Cracked the seal on the tin and the first nose was fantastic if you are A Bailey's fan ans white chocolate fan (who isn't). Packed easily using the tried and true gravity/tamp x3 method, perfect. I was a little concerned with relights due to the moisture, but I was surprised that after the charring light, I needed no other relights. The real flavor of the Irish Cream and white chocolate come out about 1/3 the way into the bowl, fantastic flavor not overpowering or oversweet. Very reminiscent of a good Nougat blend but more complex depth to my palate. Get some of this as a nice after dinner smoke. Room note A+. Value is also good at less than $10.

I am rather new to smoking a pipe being that I am more of a cigar smoker, but I have now embraced the pipe more recently. This blend is my favorite so far. It has a great taste and room note. My wife does not mind the aroma at all, in fact she is rather fond of this blend. It does have a slight aftertaste but I like it. I highly recommend this blend

Strong, consistent and very pleasant Irish Cream flavor throughout the smoke. Tobacco itself is virtually undetectable due to the strong topping.
Needs to be smoked slow and cool. Stronger puffs and relights lead to a very sharp, acidic, chemical taste. Must be dried out before smoke.
Smokes quite wet, so expect some gurgling and an unignitable wet bit at the end of the bowl. As with most aromatics, the aftertaste isn't that pleasant.
3.5 stars as far as aromatics go. 3 stars overall.

Chocolatey Irish cream for sure. A bit of nuts and some tobacco flavor too. I just feel this one fell a little short. Everyone raves about it as the best aromatic around but I just think it’s ok. It’s not bad but the flavor falls off after the first half of the bowl, it has a cigarillo black n mild taste to it which just feels gas station tobacco to me. Not bad but for my money there’s a lot more tasty aromatics around.

This blend is really nice - not great, not very good, really nice. I have about a half a bowl left of a tin I had for a few months. It must be dried properly (meaning not OVER dried) to have really any flavor at all - and when you can get it that way in a suited “dry” pipe- excellent: slightly tart but sugary black cavendish that develops well, not overly sweet. Not as glorious as an LJ Periti black Virginia - but close. Don’t dry test by touch - I think there is some PG in it. Not a fan of that, but I still like this blend. Extremely mild. If you didn’t have to near perfectly nail the humidity - I’d recommend this as an excellent “new to pipes” blend.

Tin note is very pleasant. Reminiscent of Fig Newton cookies. A little sticky but smoked just fine from the tin. Overall a very mild smoke with the vanilla coming through most for me. Occasionally would get a pool chlorine sort of taste. Wouldn't purchase again, but it's an alright time.

As I have previously noted I’m not an aromatic smoker, preferring Virginia’s and Va/Per blends primarily. Having said that I do on occasion try an aromatic spurred on by a friend, a good review or description that intrigues me. That’s the case here. Frothed cream and Irish whiskey, hazelnut and cocoa...well that did it. Tin note is white chocolate, cream, a slight mint and very faint whisky. A little like Baileys Irish Cream. Moisture level requires some dry time but not to much. I will say that the taste when smoked mirrored the tin notes. At the same time the Virginias still come through. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. While I wouldn’t smoke this often, I do really enjoy it when I want a break from my routine and want to have some very different flavors from what I normally smoke. I’ve been told by those around me that the room note is outstanding. A downside for me is that it has a very low to nonexistent nicotine hit. This one is all flavor and not much else.

Nice smooth and suttle smoke. Definitely got hints of vanilla and chocolate as undertones with the tobacco showing through. Has a pleasant room smell, not overpowering at all. Do wish it had a bit more flavor though. Maybe with some aging that will come through more.

This was my second dive into Aro's after a decade of neglecting them for my beloved English blends.
Eileen's Dream is definitely a dream. Very creamy, light, smooth, vanilla with some bittersweet chocolate, I get it. I completely forgot I was smoking it one time for a solid 5-10 minutes with it clenched.
If that's what you're looking for, this is it. It'll burn hot, so take it easy with it. I'd also recommend drying each bowl load about 15-20mins before lighting up.
For me, this is a tepid no. When I'm smoking, I like to SMOKE (if that makes any sense). I want it's presence known; I want it talking to me. This one felt more like a whisper. No noticeable vitamin N or heft to it, which is it's intention, so I get it's merits. It's like having a cream latte vs. a cup of black coffee.
I also had difficulty picking up any complexity to this one, even through the retrohale. It was always just smooth cream/chocolate. Not necessarily a negative, but worth mentioning. This could be due to my lack of experience with these, but either way, this one is just 'too quiet' for me.

Eileen's Dream has a very sweet tin note. I can pick out the Irish Mist, vanilla, a note of honey and very creamy. The smoke is very mild. I do get some tobacco which is earthy, nutty, slightly wood with a hint of grass. The topping is the star of the show it is very sweet, creamy, notes of honey and alcohol. The chocolate is there and the vanilla is behind it. The hazelnut and almond notes are subtle and come in in the last half of the bowl on the retro-hale. A nice smoke that stays mild the nic hit is not noticeable for me at all and either is the room note. Others failed to comment on it as well so at least it is unoffensive to those around you. It does smoke a little wet and suffered several relights throughout each bowl. It burned just a little warm and because of this it could not be smoked all day but is repeatable without issues.

I like to think we all have guilty pleasures. Something that you really don't want your pipe smoking friends to find out about? Well, one of mine is Eileen's Dream.
I love Irish Creme and this one to my mind brings it home with a touch of vanilla. The tin note is great and that flavor comes through. The key with this one to me is to smoke it slow, barely smoldering and don't let it get hot. It works great in a cob as it will ghost.
This isn't a blend that I'd smoke all day, or even everyday.. but it's nice for when I want something sweet and I have a Country Gentleman cob which I've named Eileen in it's honor.

Very nice aroma of chocolate, liqueur and some unidentified spice for me. I was really glad to smell cold tobacco. Unfortunately the the aroma remains in the bowl only half of smoking time. Las third of bowl is only pure warm air, with a taste of a bit of Cavendish. Leaving a lot moisture in my pipes, even after drying before smoke. Still remains in my rotation, but most probably will be changed soon.
