A mild, naturally sweet English style blend, in which half the blend consists of four different Virginias. Minor roles are played by Burley, Turkish, Latakia, and Perique.
This is a very nice sweet tasting blend with a little bit of tartness to it. It is a mixed color blend with a nice leathery musty pouch aroma. It is a larger cut than a lot of John's blends, but it loaded easily and lit very well on first light. I settled in with this in a Peterson Deluxe and a cold beer. It has lots of sweet VA taste mixed with the smokiness of the Latakia. The perique and orientals add their tartness to the smoke and this is one of the few English blends that one can really taste all the different tobaccos in it. None seems to overpower the other. It did take a few relights but not too many. It is a sipper and not a puffer as it will bite if smoked too fast. I would rate it a medium English. It did burn down to a nice grey ash and all the way to the bottom. It was the perfect moisture content, a little on the dry side. The Latakia in this blend was very sweet and tasty. It is a very nice blend for English lovers so i do recommend it.
I was sent a sample of Honeymoon, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it, since the few English blends I have tried were too harsh and strong for my tastes. But this is a mild blend with a nice balance of flavors. Itll never make my top ten list, but I do like it for a change.
