Blend of Cavendish Tobacco flavored with a rich cherry mixture... Full aromatic, medium to full bodied yet gentle. One of J.M.'s first masterful blends 30 years ago. While smoking the cherry aroma gives way to an agreeable, light tobacco flavor. Burns easily to the end.

The sweet, deep cherry flavor mostly dominates the Virginia cavendish, so you'll find very little of that taste here outside of a blade or two of grass and a drop of honey. The cherry has some creaminess, though it has a slight syrupiness in the second half at times that I found a little distracting. I do get occasional minor vanilla notes from the black cavendish, which I found rather pleasant. May need a little dry time. Burns cool at a slow to moderate pace with no bite or harsh moments, along with a consistent flavor to the finish. Will leave moisture in the bowl and needs relights. The room note is wonderful. Not quite an all day smoke.

I have found that being a non-aromatic smoker the time does come when a good aro is nedded and can be enjoyed. This has a lot to do with the wife not liking the smell of heavy english blends or even some times just craving a change of pace. Boswells Cherry Smash is a good aromatic. It does have some nictonine which is important to me and does not bite. There is a strong cherry flavor at the beginning of the bowl which mellows and some good black cavendish flavors come through towards the second half. I could never smoke this stuff all day but a couple of times a week does work. I would imagine that those who like aromatics would like this blend asit is one of the few that I actually can enjoy.

Not a real cherry cavendish fan but love the room note of most cherry tobacco. A friend from the pipe community recommended this blend for people like me who want the aroma but not the sickeningly sweet overpowering flavor of the casings used in most berry blends. Cherry Smash is a nice smooth burning and smoking tobacco. Cherry Smash has the cherry roma I love and a rich tobacco flavor with a sweet and nutty finish. A pleasant smoke for a sitter and is sure to please the people around you. I would buy this blend again.

This is one classy aromatic pipe tobacco. It was my first cherry cavendish purchase, thanks to positive reviews on this forum. Bought a 1 oz sample and right off the bat was delighting in the pouch note; a sweet rich cavendish bottom end crowned with a pleasant cherry top note. Boswell's splendid Virginia tobacco taste peeks in and out, and Cherry Smash's fragrant clouds of smoke are a thing of beauty. The room note is on the sweet side as well and a crowd-pleaser. It wants to burn a tad hot and tongue bite can sneak up on you if you're not careful, but that's fairly normal for cased aromatics. Some relighting is needed, just pack a little more tightly, go slow and pay attention to your tampwork, no worries. Alternatively, 10-15 minutes drying time can be a good thing.

I think this is a smoke that would appeal to someone who wants to taste top-quality tobacco as well as a nice cherry casing. Those wanting a stronger cherry-flavored punch might be disappointed, but only by a little. Shared the whole 1 oz sample with my friends and then bought 4 oz more, which we are working through in a most enjoyable fashion. Happily, the second batch was identical to the first. If you like to have a few cherry tobaccos in your stash, Cherry Smash is a good one, and a keeper.

All the Boswells are top notch, but this is presently my favorite. some of the reviewers think that this casing is too weak, but I find that it is perfect since it does not overwhelm the Virginia tobacco taste. It is mild with no tongue bite, smokes cool, and has a nice taste. It leaves a nice flavor to the pipe. I was tending towards straight Virginias but love this combination. Stays lit, no goop, and burns to a nice ash. Four stars for sure.

I had a forum friend send me many samples of Boswell and Drew Estate aros to try out as I had tried neither of these companies' offerings. Overall, I would give the nod to the Drew Estate aros overall as I felt they were done better and I felt a little disappointment in the Boswell aros as I guess I had high expectations from the many reviews that I had read. Perhaps it was due to the comparison with what I felt to be a superior offering.

Of the Boswell blends that I had tried, I was surprised to find that it was this blend that was my favorite of the lot. Surprised because I typically don't like the cherry aros, at least what I would consider what should be representative of a cherry aro. For instance, I love GH top black cherry, but it is so different than just a cherry flavor with GH's unique Lakeland sauce taste that the result of cherry added to that just tastes much different that someone looking for cherry may not like it.

This is a cherry aromatic and it is the best offering of such that I have tried. I smoked this up in a day or two. Many smokes were out of my Country Gentleman while putzing around the garage. It made my workplace and my mustache smell great. A real enjoyable smoke that kept its topping flavor throughout that entire smoke.

I would put this at a notch over three stars, not quite four. Good stuff.

I was told to stay away from aromatics, but I decided to try a few anyway.

This was one I will NEVER try again. Tastes terrible, Bites like crazy, and leaves my mouth very upset.

Was rough on my throat and tasted like hot garbage hinted with cherry cough syrup, Don't bother.

After a couple weeks of having it around it seems the cherry flavor has grown richer, and fuller but still subtle and refined and not overwhelming...and now the cherry seems to stick around the whole bowl. It's also not a strong or sour cherry, it's soft and only slightly tart. I like this one because it's not just straight cherry, it seems to be more than that...maybe a cherry with a vannilla finish. And that is why I keep it around. I may not smoke it much but when I'm in the mood for some cherry...it's really tasty. Sometimes I forget that I do like cherry blends, but I have to be in the mood and this is one of the best I've smoked. It burns well, and smokes great...no bite and smokes dry. It has a good balance and the tobacco flavors are not overpowered. The only other thing I can say is I felt this blend has a bit of a nicotine kick to it and stronger tobacco flavor. I noticed the same with Boswell's Apple Struddle, which is also great. Not a bad thing, just more than I'm used to. Good stuff for a change of pace, it's a once in a great while smoke for me. I'm not big on cherry, but this is good for those times and a way better cherry blend than the others out there.

Probably the best cherry pipe tobacco you can find. It's a "perfect cherry" blend in my opinion and I'm a fan of aromatics. No chemical taste and seems all-natural flavoring.

Burns cool and stayed lit. Flavor remained throughout.

Reminds me of homemade cherry cobbler at 1 pm at a family diner with a bit of a Graham-cracker finish. Truly remarkable. It does lack a hint of depth and richness, but seriously, of the 50 some-odd cherry tobaccos I've tried, this is THE one.

MacBaren's Cherry Ambrosia has too much vanilla flavoring as does Sutliff due to the Cavendish process but this one is pure cherry without being chemical-synthetic or rude. Just perfect.

Cherry aromatics get a bad rap, and usually for good reason. Most burn hot, sizzle your tongue, are cloying, and taste artificial. Thats not the case here.

I get a craving for cherry blends every so often, and McClelland M-27 was my go to. Well, we all know what happened there.

Appears to be a blend of 3 different Cavendish tobaccos. Moisture content is on par with most of Boswell's blends, meaning they are smokeable on delivery. Lighting and packing seemed to go without an issue as well.

Flavors are terrific. Very reminiscent of McClellands M-27 cherry I was in love with. No hints of tongue bite if sipped slowly. Which you should anyway to get the intended flavor. All in all one of the best cherry blends available, which is why it has been around for 40 years.

As far as aros go, this is 4 stars all day long

I have the pleasure of being able to drive to Boswells shop. These folks are beyond great folks. I have sampled alot of their blends. The cherry was one that I thought--what the heck--I wil give it a try. In my past experience with cherry pipe tobaccos I found them to bite back--especially in the back of my throat. Unfortunately this one was no different. I found it to bite harder than I expected. I won't be smoking this again. The Boswell family has far more greater, and better blends.

i dont like cherry blends. they are too busy trying to be cherry, while burning your tongue out.this one is subtle. i thought this is a mild blend while lighting. then afraid of possible bite i smoked slowly.sweet overtones of cherry,no bite,no steam.a very good blend made to be enjoyed with your nose in the smoke! this blend never overpowered. it continued to build to a full boquet of pleasure.i will buy this again and again.the only other cherry blend i cared to smoke more than once unfortunately left a ghost in my pipe for days. not this one.also smoked dry. this is a four star blend with a nice aroma.blender knew what he was doing.great flavor.

I must agree with my fellow puffer. This tobacco has a nice aroma in the pouch, but not a real cherry aroma. While smoking ,the cherry flavor and smell are are faintly present in the background. The tobacco packs, lights, smokes well, does'nt get hot,and no tongue bite. But if your looking for a true cherry tobacco this isn't it.If you want a mild tobacco with a hint of cherry(?)then give it a try.

In my search to find a great cherry blend, I had to give this one a try. The pouch aroma is not very ?cherry? smelling. Upon lighting this one up, I was waiting for ?cherry FLAVOR?. It?s there, but only slight as a background. Coming from Washington, I know what a good cherry should taste like so maybe I am a bit bias. This blend has more of a sweet cherry taste rather than a bold/robust cherry flavor that I was expecting. This blend is ?wimpy? when it comes to providing a true cherry flavor. Not a bad tobacco taste, but if it?s cherry flavor your looking for, Pipeworks & Wilke?s Cherry Cavendish blows this one away hands down!

A nice cherry aromatic that does not hit you in the face with artificial cherry flavor or that chemical taste. It is on the sweetside, and pleasing. Smoke slowly and no bite. Easy smoke and comes out of the tin with no wetness or goopy feel. It is a nice aromatic for those days when you are in the mood to have a dessert in your pipe.

let me preface by saying I'm not a fan of cherry aromatic blends, but man do they smell good! This is a simple, traditional cherry cavendish. It doesn't bite, but it will make a threat if smoked too aggressively, and/or doesn't have enough drying time. Keep it cool, and Bob's your uncle. It's a must try for cherry fans.

When This first arrived I was excited to try it, that excitement quickly lead to disappointment. It was "perfumy" and I didn't care for it one bit. after letting it sit for about a month that perfume taste has mellowed to an acceptable range. You will have no problem finding the cherry flavor in this one, Not an all day smoke for me but definitely worth a try and something nice to have for a change.

Simply not a big fan of cherry blends. They end up tasting like cough drops to me. I will say this blend does not fall in that catagory. It is very mild with only a hint of cherry throughout the smoke. It burns fairly cool and not real bad bite as you would expect from a cherry blend. Room note has a slight aroma of cherries and is pleasant. Just a decent all around good smoke.

I like it. My favorite cherry blend. The taste is not heavy and I do not taste any cherry, but i find it to be a cool, non-biting smoke. Excellent on the nose and maybe a little nutty flavor in the middle. This is my second bowl after having tucked away in a sealed mason jar for a few years, forgetting I had this. I wasn't impressed on my first bowl but this 2nd bowl isn't bad at all. Again, I do not detect any bite to it. I find it lights and burns very easily.

Not bad, but not one of my favorite Boswell blends. A bit artificial tasting, and contrary to the description, does NOT burn easily to the end. No bite. If you like Cherry flavor, try their PA Dutch Treat, which to me has a more balanced cherry flavor.
