An intricate mixture of Burley, Virginias and Perique superbly flavored with rum, fig, peach and walnut. The place to go for a great smoking experience.
While I am learning to like some of these Altidus blends such as coco-cream which I find delicous, this one kind of bored me. For me, it was very easy yo light and burned all the way down. It left a grey dottle in the bottom of my pipe. I perique was there in tongue presence and aroma, but there was not any real taste here. I did not dislike nor did I hate it. It was just a smoke that left me wanting more. I am going to put it up for awhile to see if it gets better, it does earn that. My sample was fresh from the factory. It is a real mix in the pouch with several different color and cut tobaccos. Pouch smell was kind of sweet musky and after the light up it was kinda light until the second half, very typical of this make.
I've had some of this on hand for a couple of years now. In the midst of a bunch of tobaccos I have, it hadn't been revisited in some time. My early impressions were that it was a flavorful aromatic, with a wonderful variety of flavors that would emerge...the rum, fig, peach, and walnut toppings intermingling. Of course the nutty burley, and sweet virginia tobbaco paired with a bit of spicy perique (not all that noticeable but there) doing that VAPER thing.
Fast forward now to having rediscovered it languishing for a couple of years in a double sealed plastic pouch, humidifying discs fairly routinely moistened.....I loaded up a bowl a bit tightly and had a devil of a time getting it to stay lit. After loosening the pack and getting a good light, I now had billowing fluffy clouds of smoke, with a very nice room note (just a couple of feet away from my lovely bride) and a deliciously tasty pipe. I've smoked a couple of bowls now these past few days, and the flavor is still delectable..such an interesting blend that I think has only become better with the couple of years its had time to mingle and marry within the pouch. I can't see it getting much better, most aromatics kind of peak after a couple of years I think. This is very good at this point in time, perhaps time to reinvest for a point a couple of years hence. A recommendable blend of flavors parades through the bowl as it burns down. Try it.
I really like this stuff. Burley,Virginia, and Perique. Flavored with rum, fig, peach and walnut. each one comes out on there own every so often making this somewhat complex indeed. This blend can bite so smoke slow. Burns to a clean dry ash try it!!! Update!!! After smoking several bowls of this, I find there is just to much tongue bite. If puffed slow it is not bad, But who want's to smoke a tobacco a certain way?.
