I picked up this tobacco in 100g tin form from a friend at the recent 2005 Kansas City pipe Show. After loading up and lighting up, I determined the leaf was better left in the tin.

What Jakob Kiilerich said, and then some!

Orlik - Extra Mild Mixture.

I was quite intrigued when I first opened this up; it's prominently black, nicely hydrated with a potent aroma. It takes to lighting easily and then gives a relatively good burn. That's the good points out of the way, next comes the low points. Where do I begin?

Okay, firstly the temperature of the smoke is scalding hot, unless you have a tongue cased in asbestos I think you'd better steer clear. Then we have the flavour, it's heavily cased to the point of being sticky but cased with what exactly I'm not sure. Nicotine? None. Although the burn's quite even by heck it's quick; it's over in a flash! Finally we have the room note: I'm sure I can smell paint!

This has been a waste of money, I wish I'd researched it prior to my purchase as it's going in the bin!

Not recommended.

When opening the pouch, an overwhelming sweet, nauseating odor emerges from this "tobacco". It is like sticking your nose into a bag of Basset's Liquorice Mix. I cannot believe that anyone would enjoy smoking sweets. This tobacco is flavoured and cased into unrecognizability. Futhermore, this will blister your tongue no matter how cautious you are on the puffing action, and the nicotine? Maybe Orlik forgot it at Basset's. Yuck!

Tobacconists in Denmark recommend this blend as an introduction to pipesmoking - maybe this is why you do not see young people smoking pipe anymore........
