This is a heavy Latakia dominated blend, slightly sweet. It is created by the blending of Virginia and Turkish tobaccos. It also has that slight pepper tang of perique, with smooth, true English flavor and aroma.
As always, JimInks is right. I thought this blend had burley because of its smoking characteristics. It produces lots of smoke and does not bite. However, that last third is harsh.
That being said, I will buy tins of this at pipe shows because I like it.
The Cyprian latakia may be the dominant ingredient - smoky, woodsy and fairly sweet - but this is not a lat-bomb. The Virginia is a grassy, citrus sweet base for the other components to play off. The Oriental/Turkish is woody sweet with a slight dry note in the background. The perique is a minor addition, and adds a small spice hit to add a little interest to the blend. Burns decently well until the last third of the bowl, and will leave some moisture in the bowl, and sometimes, a slight dottle if you use a decent size bowl. Has a consistent flavor, and won't bite. The strength is just shy of being medium, and the nic-hit is a shade past mild. Needs a few relights. Not quite an all day smoke. The after taste is okay. I would give this three stars, but the finish diminishes the experience, so it gets two and a half stars because of that.
