You get some nutty, earth, wood and light molasses from the burley. The Virginia has a little citrus and some grass in a secondary position. Not sure about the sweet toppings, but they have a chemical taste that is a little off putting, and sublimate the tobaccos a little. Has a small amount of nicotine. The strength and taste levels are mild. Burns rather fast, and may bite if puffed beyond a slow pace. The flavor is very consistent from start to finish. Requires few relights, and leaves little moisture in the bowl. Has too many drawbacks to rate it higher.

Skandinavik - Aromatic.

Good God, the pouch smells like a swimming pool! Sadly the smoke isn't much of an improvement either, I'll explain.

To avoid completely slagging this off, I'll point out the better things first: it arrives nicely hydrated, it's quite a light colour, the ribbons are an even size, and it burns well. Positives over.

Negatives? Well, where should I begin! Whatever the aromatic ingredients are doesn't matter; either way, it tastes like chlorine. The same can be said of the tobaccos too; I don't care what they are, the chlorine covers them. The tongue bite's atrocious from it and the heat's way too high; it's like putting my tongue into a fire.

This is by far the worst blend I've had until now, it's that bad even Clan seems good compared to it.

Not recommended.

Not a good choise.very strong aroma not pleasant at all.a bit dry packs ok lights easy.it burns really hot and ghosts the pipe after a few bowls.it leaves moisture at the end of the bowl.i also noticed that it leaves a bad mouth taste after smoking it.defenitelly a waste of time to me.

Classic Danish aromatic blend. Strongly flavored but unfortunately strongly chemical. OTC blend, cheap, unpretentious. To make a comparison, if you want a good classic Danish aromatic try Skandinavik mixture, but not this one. Not at all. Skandinavik Aromatic is rather a “panettone”, full of chemical flavorings, cloying. Really ordinary. The new european version of the blend (Skandinavik Navy) is certainly better than this one, but not exciting. At the moment it is currently available as Skandinavik Aromatic only out of Europe while Skandinavik Navy is the name in the European Union. But substantially it is the same blend. If you are looking for a cheap blend and if you like Danish flavored blends give it a try, but there is so much better on the market. In my personal rating system (from 1 to 10) my score is 4 and one star.

This is one of the worst blends I have ever tried, if not the worst. If I had to describe it with one word, it would be soapy. Very chemical, bland taste. If you want to try skandinavik, try skandinavik white instead.

This blend doesn't have much to offer. The tobacco is so mild there isn't much flavor. The room note is not unpleasant but it isn't much better than cigarettes. There is no reason for it to be labeled as aromatic. On the positive side, it burns cool and stays lit with no bite at all. Obviously, quality tobacco is used and it would be an outstanding blend if it were not so bland. I would likely keep some of it on hand for the times I don't want a robust blend but I can find a "house blend" at my local tobacco shop that tastes better and costs less.

This is not a bad tobacco, but definitelly not what i was expected! Not a value for money and certainly not an aromatic i would add in my rotation. It burns Hot.

The tobacco is not to bad but it doesn't deliver what it says the flavoring is not strong enough in my opinion and the taste is sapid. On the contrary the rome not is very pleasant.

Not a bad light-aromatic blend, although it´s got not much to remark: No tongue bite, good burning qualities, and flavoring that enhances the underlying tobaccos (mostly burley) instead of masking them completely.

It's just a junk product & complete waste of money. This blend has a very heavy smoke with strong bite and very unpleasant room note. It is anything but aromatic!The only usage of this blend for me was to mix it with other blend of aromatic tobaccos to alleviate the exaggerated aroma of them!

This is a delicious Danish Aromatic blend, it is very sweet with a complex flavor of caramel/toffee/nuts/chocolate, very mild in nicotine, this is a “heavy aromatic” blend, but it is not heavily cased, the tobacco used is good quality, it is dry with very good burning quality. However, the "Mixture" from the same blender seems to me much better than this one, in both taste and flavor.

Smoking this blend would be very enjoyable if you like Danish aromatic pipe tobacco. Actually I can enjoy only European aromatic blends, the American aromatics I simply can't handle.

The first tobacco I have ever tasted (this one) was a complete failure after I have tasted the second one. Boring, with no aroma at all and very irritating in throat. Stay away, even if it doesn't cost so much...

IMO, this is a cheap tobacco, to be used by those that, actually smoke a pipe just for the looks... I really don't understand why someone should smoke this stuff... not much taste, not much aroma, not much room note and the one that exists after the smoke, isn't that good... Grade:D

I don't love aromatics - I don't hate them either.. This one has two good points: It burns SOOO cool and it has an intrigued aroma and taste. It has a strong herbal casing which reminds me of SG Grousemoor and I believe that an aromatic person would love to have it on his rotation!

Not really much to say about this one, just another overflavoured danish mixture. The taste is sweet, boring and even people around me found it unpleasant. Thankfully the pouch was a present; so at least I havent wasted any money

Ok I guess. Opened the pack hoping it would be closer to Skandinavik Mixture than it actually is.

Nothing really to write home about here. Tastes ok, is a fair Danish pipe tobacco, but wouldn't win too many awards. Bit bland to be honest. Not unpleasant, but if you have other choices you should probably take them as this just doesn't have sufficient positives to set it apart. Time and perserverance may improve things, but I'm not sure I am that interested.

I am not exactly sure if this tobacco is the same as the old Mixture that came in a black pouch with a sailboat painting. In any case, the components (Burley and Virginia with an added flavor) are similar. Mild to medium, this tobacco has an enticing flavor that is not at all cloying. It has a very pleasant room aroma, but the coarse cut and the moisture level make it somewhat difficult to light and smoke. Smooth and tasty, it reminds me of Amphora's Black Cavendish. Not a bad choice when in the mood for something sweet and pastry-like. A very polite Danish that used to be quite popular and better than any Borkum Riff!

I smoked a few packs of this tobacco about fifteen years ago, maybe it has changed or that my memory is not as reliable, but do not remember so sweet and flavored (only a little licorice) nor biting. Surely it has nothing exceptional and it is boring, but it is a kind of tobacco that usually advice to beginners as easy to smoke.

This is not as good as the Mxture version of SKandinavik. It is not a bad tobacco, but it burns hotter and is not so fullfilling. The aroma used gets a bit annoying after some time.

Too hot burning, annoys my tongue. Not so great comments by people around me - no too bad either. I do not plan to have it in my rotation. It might be a decent starting point however.

This is the Skandinavik that was available in 12oz tins for years and was the epitome of traditional Danish sugar cased blends. The aroma was that of a Danish{cake}. The taste was sweet but without being over confectioned. A mild to medium smoke with good tobacco flavor. It's a shame you can't find this blend anymore.
