Comfy Mixture is a limited release of vintage bright Virginia ribbon and fragrant African burley ribbon. It was cased with a unique list of ingredients but is presented fairly dry and without a top note applied.
The very earthy, woody, nutty, toasty, floral, mildly cocoa-ish African burley is the lead component by a small margin. The vintage, fermented bright Virginia provides a lot of tart and tangy citrus, grass, some bread, sugar, floralness, sour lemon, light vegetation, mild spice, and a bitter acidic note. The spice from the moderately sweet dark rum is a tad more obvious than the rich vanilla and chocolate casings. The black treacle and pumpkin pie casings are lightly noticeable. The casings have a mild effect in the proceedings though they do tone down the acidity from the bright Virginia. The strength and nic-hit are a step short of the medium mark. The taste is medium. No chance of bite or harshness, and barely has any rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with a very consistent sweet, nutty, mildly floral, lightly spicy flavor. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires an average number of relights. Has a mildly lingering, pleasant after taste, and a pleasant room note. Well named, it can be an all day smoke. Three and a half stars.
