The bright Virginia cavendish offers a very mild tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, sugar and a light honey note as it takes a small lead. The sugary black cavendish is a strong supporting player. The creamy vanilla and caramel are the most obvious toppings, followed by what appears to be very light cinnamon, nutmeg and licorice notes. They are the stars, and mostly cover up the tobaccos. The strength is a couple of steps past the mild mark. The taste is in the center of mild to medium. Has a light nic-hit. There’s no chance of bite, harshness, or rough edges. The tobacco is mildly moist though I did not dry it. Burns cool, clean and slight slow with a very consistent deeply sweet flavor that extends to the lightly lingering, pleasant after taste. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant room note. And all day comfortable smoke. Three stars.
