The matured red Virginia provides plenty of fermented tangy ripe dark fruit, earth, wood, bread, some vegetation, mild sugar, light floralness and tangy citrus along with a pinch of spice and a couple blades of grass. It is the lead component. The aged Orientals offer floralness, earth, wood, vegetation, some sourness and spice, a mild presence of herbs and light buttery sweetness as a strong supporting player. It’s close to equaling the red Va. The aspects of the bright Virginia are a lot of tart and tangy citrus, sour lemon, grass, vegetation, bread, sugar, some floralness, mild spice, and acidity. They are close behind the Orientals in terms of effect. The spicy, plummy, lightly stewed raisiny, earthy, woody perique is step less obvious than the bright Virginia. It’s a little more than a condiment. The strength, nic-hit and taste levels are a couple slots past the center of mild to medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness, and barely has any rough notes. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with very consistent fruity, sugary sweet, mildly floral, spicy, sour, lightly zesty, acidic flavor. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl. Requires an average number of relights. Has a lightly lingering pleasant after taste, and room note. Can be an all day smoke.
