The blended incense-like Turkish Orientals provide plenty of wood, earth, floralness, dry sourness, vegetation, herbs, tingly spice, smoke, leather, and light butter notes as the lead components. The sugary black cavendish adds a little smoothing sweetness. The ginger and lime toppings moderately sublimate the tobaccos as they synergistically form a mostly consistent tart and tangy sweet and sour, floral, spicy, savory flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The toppings do weaken a tad after the half way point. The strength and nic-hit are medium. The taste is a step past that line. It won’t bite or get harsh. It does have a few light rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The room note is pleasant. Not quite an all day smoke, but it’s certainly repeatable. Four stars out of four.
As mentioned in other posts concerning KBV, I have a friend of mine at the pipe club that is a huge fan and has purchased numerous blends of his. For all of you perfectionists out there this is a one bowl review and I encourage you to buy some and review it for yourself. This was purchased and jarred on 7-5-21 and was really moist still, maybe due to the topping of lime and ginger. Obviously, a sweet tin note and smoked with a slight citrus taste but would not have known it was lime and ginger. This blend is in my opinion good but is in a classification of its own. To me this is a light more natural aromatic not overly strong and definitely no propylene glycol that I can tell. For a better break down of the blend please read JimInks review below. Also, here is the description from KBV’s website: “Anne Cap is a new take on the idea of the Oriental Cavendish mixture. Choice Turkish Orientals and Chunky Blackened Burley are blended and matured together with Ginger and Lime fragrance. The tobaccos are low strength, so you can enjoy the benefits of Anne Cap night or day. Disclaimer: This blend is not flavored nor does the tobacco touch the lips or tongue.” End quotes, not sure what the disclaimer means, interesting.
