The matured bright Virginia shag offers a fair amount of tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, some sugar, floralness, vegetation, a little tartly sour lemon, light earth and wood, along with a few drops of honey, a few pinches of sparkly spice, and touches of acidity. The strength and nic-hit is a couple of steps past the center of mild to medium. The taste just passes that mark, and falls a tad short of the medium mark. It won’t bite, but it does have a few small rough edges. This aspect is typical of bright Virginias that aren’t topped. Burns a tad warm and fast with a very consistent floral, sugary fruit flavor from top to bottom. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl. It doesn’t require many relights at all. Has a very pleasant, lightly lingering after taste. The room note is pleasant. An all day three star blend. Should age well.
