The smoky, woody, earthy, floral, musty sweet Cyprian Latakia is the lead component. Right on its heels for attention are the earthy, woody, very nutty, sugary, molasses sweet burleys. The grassy, tart and tangy citrusy, bready, sugary, lightly floral Virginias also offer a little tangy dark fruit, earth and wood in the third slot. The sugary black cavendish competes and occasionally surpasses the Virginias in effect. The strength, nic-hit and taste level are medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness, and the potent sweetness drowns out nearly all of the rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent sweet, nutty and savory campfire flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note to a step stronger. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke depending on how experienced you are with American English blends. Three and a half stars.
Nice easy smoke. Burns cool and has a lasting flavor that is not over powering. I will defiantly keep a couple ounces on hand! I like the bag note. The nic hit is subtle but you can get one if you are on empty! Nothing to worry about in my book.
