The Belmont Hustle is a mostly Virginia and perique mixture made with single region Belmont perique. It has fragrant matured Virginia, top grade bright Virginia, toasted burley, and a few tricks up its sleeve. A Virginia and perique mixture can be so much more than hay and pepper or figs, raisin and stewed fruit. This mixture should be so smooth, that even with a generous portion of perique, you might assume you're being Hustled.

The various Virginias provide a lot of tangy, fermented ripe, sugary dark fruit and tart and tangy citrus, earth, wood, some bread, tart lemon, and grass/hay, and light floral, vegetation, herbal, sugary stewed fruit, spice, vinegar qualities. They are the lead components. The fermented stewed fruity (raisins, dates, figs and plums), earthy, mildly spicy Belmont perique is a supporting player. The earthy, woody, nutty, slightly molasses sweet, toasted burley is in a secondary role. There is a slight caramel topping that doesn't sublimate the tobaccos to any real degree. The strength and nic-hit barely reach the medium threshold, and the taste is a step past that mark. No chance of bite or harshness. Has a few minute rough edges. Well balanced, nuanced and complex, it burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with a very consistent, deeply rich, lightly sugary and creamy, abundantly fermented sweet and mildly peppery, floral flavor that translates to the pleasantly lingering after taste and slightly stronger room note. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Despite its inherent strength, this can be an all day smoke for the veteran, and is easily repeatable for the less experienced.
