Sabotage is Acadian bright Virginia, matured red Virginia, Turkish Orientals, and Latakia. The Latakia is infused with an award winning cognac prior to blending.
The very spicy, earthy, woody, floral, herbal, dryly sour and mildly buttery sweet, vegetative, incense-like Orientals (including Macedonia) takes a little of the lead. The musty, woody, earthy, sweet Cyprian Latakias offer a lot of competition to the Orientals, and at times is on equal footing, or a touch in front. This is partly because of their intrinsic potency, and also because they are infused with a very rich cognac. The Acadian Bright Virginia provides a big burst of tangy, fermented citrus with a mild malty tartness, a fair amount of grass and hay, some sugar, a very light dark fruitiness, wood and earth, a slight floral and small spice note, and a few drops of honey and bread. It is a supporting player, just below the level of the other varietals. The fermented tangy ripe dark fruity, earthy, woody, bready, lightly sugary matured red Virginia is a condiment. It also has a hint of spice. The strength is a couple of steps past the medium level, while the taste is a slot past that mark, just falling short of the center of medium to strong. The nic-hit is a rung past the medium threshold. Won’t bite or get harsh, but it does have a few rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace. The cognac moderately sublimates and synergistically conjoins with the tobaccos to create a mostly consistent, complex, deeply rich, mildly sweet and very spicy, savory campfire flavor that translates to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is just pleasant enough to keep others around. Not quite an all day smoke, but it is repeatable.
