This is a blend of Virginias from bright to stoved, Orientals, Cyprian and Syrian Latakia, and a bit of green candela cigar leaf. The overall smoke is a comfy soft one versus being overly leathery.
I tend to notice the wine-like, earthy, woody, leathery sweet Syrian Latakia a touch more than I do the smoky, woody, earthy, musty sweet Cyprian Latakia. The mildly buttery sweet, fairly sour, dry, woody, earthy, floral, smoky, very spicy Orientals play a potent support role, and here and there almost equal the effect of the Latakias. The various bright to stoved Virginias offer a fair amount of tangy dark fruit, wood and earth, a lot of sugary stewed dark fruit, with a little tart citrus and grass as secondary supporting players. The stoved Virginia is the most obvious one by a moderate margin over the red. The bright underscores the overall taste of the blend. They often compete with the Orientals for attention, and at times, positions over the Orientals by a rung. The green candela cigar leaf is fairly floral with a little citrus, grassy vegetation, tea, cedar, hint of pepper, some smoke, and a touch of wood, and is a bold condiment. The strength and taste levels are medium. The nic-hit is a couple steps shy of medium. No chance of bite or harshness, and has fewer rough edges than expected. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a rich, complex, mildly sweet and savory flavor that translates to the lightly lingering after taste. The room note is a tad stronger. There is a little inconsistency in taste, but you’ll discern most of the intrinsic aspects of the tobaccos in every puff. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and require an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran.
