This limited edition full Scottish blend contains the finest lemon Virginias enhanced with the addition of lightly stoved red & yellow Virginias and light additions of Latakia, perique and fire cured leaf. A bit of our proprietary "stoved Oriental" and some black cavendish round out the experience.

Typical "English" blend in color, with shades all up and down the tan to black line. This ribbon has a bag aroma of spicy middle eastern leaf with a basic crisp lemon Virginia scent. The latakia was very light in aroma. My thoughts are based on half an ounce, which is all I could get. Unfortunately, this was a limited edition blend and no more is forthcoming... although, I hope Ernie reconsiders!

This is a traditional Scottish blend with the addition of perique and some fire-cured leaf. The buzzword for this one is "balance". With so many constituent tobaccos in the mix, this could have turned into a foggy mess. However, each tobacco plays its part masterfully. The various Virginias are not "too" anything, they are nice and mellow with no attention-diverting heaviness in any category. The perique and fire-cured tend to add a slight spice and robustness that, again, does not shout but rather purrs. The latakia and orientals are also conservatively added but their presence lends the spice to counterbalance the fire-cured and perique's sharper edges. Balance. Think Red Rapparee but with lemon Virginia and without the sharpness. And finally, a word about the room note. Absolutely sublime! This is one I would add to my rotation if it were readily available. Half an ounce didn't provide me the handle I would have hoped for but I definitely know that this is one I would smoke a lot of. Ernie needs a nice Scottish blend in his stable and I hope that it is as good as this one. I'd smoke this one even if it were only for that wonderful room note!
