Fire cured black cavendish and rich dark grades of burley flavoured with a unique robust chocolate. This is the finest chocolate blend a pipe smoker can experience.
The nutty, earthy, woody burley takes a lead over the sugary black cavendish. Virginia is not listed in the ingredients, but I get a small sense of grass and citrus that must come from its presence. The chocolate dominates the tobaccos for the most part, though the attributes from the burley and black cavendish peek out enough to notice. The strength is in the center of mild to medium, while the taste is just past that level. Has very little nicotine. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent flavor all the way to the end. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and only needs an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant, slightly lingering after taste and room note. An all day smoke.
I believe this is now called 'Ancient Secrets' as there cannot be appealing flavours in the name or packaging of tobacco in Canada anymore, something to do with protecting children from smoking. Ironic, as there are pot shops on every corner and bongs are sold on shelves in every gas station and convenience store in the country, yet it's always the pipe tobacco I see kids smoking in parking lots. Anyways, I digress. It's okay tobacco. Mixed cavendish with a chocolate topping. It has a floral bouquet to it and touch of liqueur. Quite moist, but not wet or super greasy. Burns acceptably. It's light and mild in every respect. Consistent flavour, though there is hardly any discernable tobacco taste. Pleasant room note. It's not for me, like most Mr.B blends I find it too light and flowery. A buddy of mine really likes this stuff though. Pretty run of the mill Canadian aromatic, similar to captain black. Somewhat recommend as it's not terrible and better than most blends available in Canada, but I have little interest in smoking it again.
