Loose cut Virginia and a little Cavendish form the basis of Mango Vanilla. For perfect balance a selected Ready Rubbed Burley is added. The taste is of soft vanilla flavor in perfect harmony with a faint mango note.

Notes: Previously blended in Germany by Planta. Currently blended in Denmark by Mac Baren.

Due to EU regulations, this is renamed and sold in those countries as "Golden Harmony".

Mild Medium to Strong Mild Tolerable

I would like to start by saying I'm an IDIOT!! A really big one at that! Of late I have been visiting friends in a different part of the country so found myself looking for aro's in an unfamiliar tobacconist. The selection they had was not amazing when I spied HD M & V, now I had already seen the two reviews on here but that silly little voice in my head dared me to buy it. So here goes ......

Let's start with the positives, well positive as there is really only one and that is that it only comes in a 40g pouch and not a 50g so there is less to get through! Starting with the pouch note, it's a lot like the chemical smell you get from a urinal block in a public toilet. Up on lighting the initial taste is hard to describe. Some companys use natural flavours, some use artificial flavours & PG. I can only assume for this blend H.D used either shake & vac or toilet duck!!!! I would love to comment on the tobacco flavours but I will be buggered if I could find any no matter how hard I tried. Stevie B mentioned tounge bite but I feel it's more like a chemical burn it's a really strange feeling I've never encountered before. For the love of god don't let it go out as relighting it only makes a bad job worse.

So will I be throwing it out? Well not just yet but mostly because I'm as tight as a nuns chuff :-). I will play around blending it with a few things but I get the feeling it will end up in the bin. Now remember kiddies HD M & V is like hard-core drugs, it's not big or clever so just say NO!!!

Holger Danske - Mango and Vanilla.

I was sure I'd already reviewed this, but when checking realised I hadn't. So, ordered some to save for my aromatic day; Sunday.

The cut of the tobacco makes loading and lighting simple; the moisture aids this as well. The aroma from it has more mango than vanilla, and seems quite strong.

The smoking quality? Hmmm, not good. Again, as I discovered in the pouch-note, the mango pushes the vanilla out of the park; but rather than having a flavoursome, aromatic, character, it's acidic, sharp and bitter. The tobaccos taste ok, I'm guessing, the topping doesn't allow much of them to come through! The burn? Hot. The palate? Wrecked by bite.

Room-note: not bad. Nicotine: a jot above mild.

Mango and Vanilla? Had a few bowls this morning, next move is to throw it in the bin! Not recommended:

One star.

The tin aroma is quite something to quaff. It reminds me of fruity off-brand Kool Aid; an artificial flavor found in the most brightly colored kid's drinks. So I braced myself for what would surely be one of the fruitiest aromatics I ever stumbled upon.

The contents was perfectly dry with a very manageable cut and comes in a plastic bag (which was a first for me). It lit wonderfully, but the experience took a drastic turn once it got burning. It smokes with a hot, spittle pooling bite that burns off any previously noted flavor. It isn't terribly strong, just somewhat bitter and not very enjoyable as an aromatic nor leisurely piping session.

This tobacco works great as an air freshener, but was found lacking for the intended purpose of smoking.

Mild Medium to Strong Very Mild Pleasant

I’m not a huge aromatic fan but this blend doesn’t even have enough flavor to be one . I find the quality of tobacco leaves used in this blend quite poor ,and not at all worth the price.but it does leave a pleasant odor and it smells quite nice .unfortunately that is not enough for me to count it as a good tobacco.

Not much love given to this blend? I find it to be exactly what it claims to be, Virginia and burley topped with boozy vanilla, mango and citrus. This is not a light me and huff me like a train blend. Definitely a sipper blend as the Virginia sugar can and will burn your tongue. I find quality tobacco with subtle flavoring and yes I enjoy it as a break from the normal. Lights and burns well. No goop and very little dottle. Nicotine is light.
