Dry out of the pouch, way too dry for a Cavendish. Nothing to report on the smell. No sweet or fruity notes.

I used a new meerschaum for this review, so the pipe had no impact on taste (a good practice, I believe). It smoked withough relighting, all the way down. And that was the only positive thing I have to say about this tobacco. So far at least. I plan to hydrate it a bit and try again, in a good briar.

In the first half I tasted some sweet notes from the casing, but nothing exciting from the Virginia. Mid-bowl I felt almost as if I were smoking a cigarette - nondescript tobacco, with no nuances. Granted, one can smoke it, but it is not very satifying. I will try to: 1. Hydrate it and smoke it in a briar 2. use as blending tobacco

And then I will report again. Hopefully with a higher rating.

Pipe Used: Meerschaum

Age When Smoked: New

Similar Blends: Cigarette tobacco.

When opening the can, you can see thin, long, brown and black ribbons. The smell reminiscent of sweet fruits plus a touch of herbs. If the tobacco is dry, it should be properly hydrated as in my case. Achieved dampness turns on well and no re-heating is needed by burning regularly. It should be smoked calmly to appreciate the flavors, it does not burn the tongue. The taste is initially sweet and fruity, perhaps cherries of the cavendish, later on the flavor of the base of virginia appears alternating with the sweetness of the cavendish. These flavors last until the end, natural and soft producing a creamy and pleasant smoke. Nicotine is average. Recommended for a rotation and for daily use.

Pipe Used: Salvatella Bosc

Age When Smoked: 3 years from the pouch

Purchased From: Tobacco shop, Barcelona.
