This soft burley and cavendish mixture will be one of the most unique aromatics in your cellar. The pronounced honey topping at times resembles tea, or even rum. The sophisticated pipe smoker will immediate appreciate the essence of Lakeland tobacco characteristics, as rosewater is apparent on the exhale. A sweet, perfumed delight!
Notes: White Rose was proudly developed in 2017 to celebrate the 200th Episode of Country Squire Radio and was presented to and named for Beau York, our dear friend. All profits from the sale of White Rose go directly to making Country Squire Radio happen each week. As of June 2017, Country Squire Radio is the #1 rated pipe-smoking podcast in the world. The show is now at the core of an international pipe club which gives smokers across the globe a chance to celebrate the hobby together weekly.
This might be the best aromatic I've ever smoked and certainly one of the best tobaccos I've ever smoked. Has a great honey flavor that keeps me wanting to come back for more. I sometimes get the rosewater but it's not often. Burns cool and clean.
Part of the war of the roses series with Lancaster.
The honey comes through pretty strong at first but mellows through the bowl. I didn't get too much of the "Lakeland" note though as expected. Not as perfumy as some Lakelands I've tried.
Burned really well as do all of the Squire Blends.
The weekly podcast has made The Country Squire fairly well-known in the pipe community, but Jon David is a serious tobacconist when he & Beau aren't on the air. White Rose was created to support Country Squire Radio, and does so brilliantly. The bag note is what sold me on this tobacco. From that very start, White Rose is quite the experience. Many CS aromatics feel sticky as your fingers load the bowl, and this one is typical in that sense. Not a single one of their blends, however, leave any sticky goop behind in the bowl. White Rose has a surprisingly mellow honey flavor that supports the well-selected virginias and is complemented perfectly by the burley. The rose essence isn't overwhelming at any point and is most obvious on the retrohale. This is a luxurious tobacco that won't overwhelm with nicotine. White Rose could easily be an all day blend. Because of its moisture content this tobacco can get steamy pretty quickly, so a gentle cadence is needed. Overall this is a simple but wonderful tobacco.
Sophisticated, elegant and a bit delicate. It doesn’t clobber you over the head with bold flavors. Smooth honey that fades a bit deeper into the bowl. The rose essence is the delicate part that peeks in, but certainly perfume like a full blown Lakeland. Well mannered with a pleasant room note. Great for a hot evening with iced tea.
A very unique tobacco! Very mild but plenty of flavour. Almost tastes like pancakes but not smothered in syrup! I do agree that I get a very light floral finish reminiscent of a mild Lakeland. First bowl captivated my interest. By forth bowl I became impressed and will order more. Is not your typical aromatic being that I'm not a huge aromatic fan other than HG's lakelands.
