Notes: From JR's Cigars website: A classic tasting no frills, domestic pipe tobacco featuring a base of Virginia and Kentucky tobaccos that’s light, mellow, flavorful, and low priced.
The flue cured Virginia is a bit grassy with mild citrus. The Kentucky is a little woody, toasty, slightly nutty sweet, and earthy as a supporting player. It also has the barest hint of a spice note. The strength and nic-hit are just a shade beyond mild. The taste level is mild. Needs a little hydration to bring out the very consistent, clean flavor and slow the burn rate, which is fast when dry. Requires few relights. Virtually leaves no moisture in the bowl. Might bite if puffed rapidly. Has a dull, short lived after taste. A typical cigarette tobacco that may do as pipe tobacco if you only want to make a lot of smoke and have the taste of cigarette in your bowl, but the lack of depth, body, and character will not likely satisfy anybody but a novice who's used to RYO.
I tried the peach and cherry versions of this tobacco. The flavoring and aroma is fine. The tobacco they are topping is not enjoyable and it does not blend well.

Sold almost in every gas station, When i saw 33% more in the bag and the price being $12.99. It must be a good deal. This review is after 3 big bags,
-some sticks in the bag but not enough to complain about at all. - its nice and fluffy, -its cut in long stings, witch for me a light stuffing in to the rolling machine make it perfect to glide it all the way in. -not really a taste just a regular smoke. -does not hit harsh and is light to mild on how hard it hits.
The only thing that i do not like along with my grand dad and his brother is it makes me cough more often than any others..on smoking it or just holding it in my mouth. It is not the tubes because i've experimented with a few different types to make sure it was the tobacco it self.
Overall, to me personally, it is an ok smoke that is cheap with more in the bag. More than likely cheaply made. My grand dad still buys it because how much is in the bag and price. Every so often i would have one of his thinking it was the date on the bag or how old it is..maybe stale....nope..its just how it is.

My sample came at an appropriate level of hydration. It is a tan/brown mix of mostly short narrow ribbon and irregular small "fish flake." I would not call this "shag" as the description does. Pouch note is mild and the only thing I can really detect is mild tobacco and maybe a whiff of the Virginia.
Smoked I get a little grassiness and a (very) little spice. The spice is more obvious exhaling through the nose. There is a slight sweet note. Smoking qualities were good, and it was easy to keep lit. The flavor improved in the last half of the bowl. I don't detect any topping.
The experience overall was a little thin. There is not much here in terms of flavor, but it is a pleasant enough smoke.
