From Peter Heinrichs website translated to English: An exquisite blend of the finest fire-dried Kentucky tobaccos from US and African growing regions, which are refined with bright Virginias to make the taste a little softer. The unique smoky, light earthy character is not lost, it only gets a slightly sweet background nuance . A tobacco for the experienced pipe smoker !

Notes: This blend was discontinued shortly after its release, due to the tins getting rusty. It wasn't continued afterwards.

This is a very good blend! It's strong but not is it a big problem. The taste remember the Irish Flake of Peterson, but here there is only kentucky and virginia, nothing burley. Very good! (Excuse me for my bad english, i'm italian)

Pipe Used: Savinelli, Gasparini, Rossi, MM Legend

Age When Smoked: New

Purchased From: German

Excellent Blend! Have got 3 samples of this from my last visit at Peter Heinrichs Chateau Henri. Im pretty sure this is a Mac Baren Old Dark Fired Clone.

Smell from the tin: Earthy notes, paired with a bit of acidic/vinegar-notes to it. The vinegar-ish cant be found in the taste tho.

Taste: Earthy, nutty and a whiff of sweetness. Almost a bit smokey. It has got a decent floral taste to it as well.

Smoking experiences: The Nicotine isnt overwhelming, but its definetly recognizable. It's said "for experienced smokers" - which i can't agree with. I only smoke the pipe for about 2 1/2 month at the moment I'm writing this review. And I can enjoy it, without it being too strong or something. If youre not afraid of a bit stronger blends, you should give it a go, no matter if youre experienced smoker or not.

Summary: This is a 9/10 for me, and was a good introduction to the even more strong Bold Kentucky from MB. A very tasty and rich blend, excellent after a good meal.
