This contains a lot more black Cavendish in comparison to the Virginia, it's probably about a 75-25% ratio with the Cavendish taking the higher position.
The pouch gives off a fairly heavy aromatic smell with the alcoholic attribute being the strongest addition.
The moisture's good, mind you, I always expect something in loose pouch form to be dryer than a sealed tin.
The smoke has quite a good flavour to it. In fact it's very close to what the pre light mix had me expecting for from the appearance and smell.
Of the tobaccos it seems that again the Cavendish holds the leading position. The Virginia gives very little to the blend.
The casings come through very well. The sharpness from the ginger works great with the rum. Of the three I find the cherry the least indomitable. It's present but not as easily noticed.
The burn is good, it's able to be smoked for a while without tamping or re-lighting.
As well as burning steadily it's good as the smoke coming from it isn't too warm. Not even if I forcefully suck my pipe.
Tongue bite? No. Simple!
The nicotine is pretty mild, not totally absent albeit there's hardly any!
This is quite a good blend but not the best. I think two and a half stars is about right.
